Natalee Holloway Investigation: Dompig; “Basic thumb rule says that in the first forty days of your investigation you probably have talked to the Perps.”

There were some rather interesting comments made by Aruban LE, Dompig, in the fact that he feels that they have already spoken to the perpetrators of those responsible for the disappearance of Natalee Holloway. When asked whether he thought they had their man Dompig responded with the following:

Basic thumb rule says that in the first forty days of your investigation you probably have talked to the perps. We feel that we have talked to them.

Even though Dompig claims that the investigators are looking at many leads and going back over others that were never investigated in the beginning.

You have to assume that there was some foul play. We never stopped looking for the live Natalee. Although those efforts were kinda on a back burner.

Dompig and the Aruban LE want to verify the tapes from the Dr. Phil Show for authenticities to Deepak Kalpoe’s claims that “we all had sex with her”. Obviously this contradicts Joran Van der Sloot’s comments during his interview with the National Enquirer where he claims he did not. But then again didn’t Deepak Kalpoe’s mother, Nadira Ramirez, make the following comment, “Come on, we all lie“?

Fox Big Story; 10-8-05 (Hat Tip: SMS)

Reporter: Welcome sir, tell us what new leads the police are pursuing tonight

Dompig: We have been working on two, several tracks you could say. One is re reading all the information that we have. Second is working on the leads we haven’t been able to work on. In that respect, we also received new information and leads and are working on those. My people convinced me with that information that this case is far from dead.

Reporter: Can you share with us some of those leads that appear to have promise?

Dompig: Once these guys were set free, we feel that people who probably know something feel compelled to come forward. These tips and leads continue to come in. Some of these leads are very interesting. We feel that these same three boys remain very interesting to us.

Reporter: Do you think that Natalee Holloway is dead and one or more of these three suspects are involved in it?

Dompig: Well, of course you don’t know, that is what investigating is all about. You have to assume that there was some foul play. We never stopped looking for the live Natalee. Although those efforts were kinda on a back burner.

Reporter: Do you think you have your man in one or all three of them?

Dompig: Yes, let me say this. Basic thumb rule says that in the first forty days of your investigation you probably have talked to the perps. We feel that we have talked to them.

Reporter: Let me ask you about this tape where Deepak Kalpoe allegedly admitted that all three had sex with Natalee. Assuming that the authorities down there get their hands on that tape pretty soon from Dr. Phil and it confirms he made that admission coupled with the statements that NH was coming in and out of consciousness, would that be enough for an arrest on a sex charge?

Dompig: I cannot say that, I cannot comment on that. I can say that we have done everything possible to get our hands on those tapes, the original tape. We really want to know if they are legitimate, and not something that was altered or whatever. We have put in an official request through the prosecutor to the Dr. Phil show The response was that we could get the tapes if the prosecutor participated in a show where she was handed over the tapes on the air. Of course, we don’t want to participate in a show.

Well since they lost so much other evidence I surely would not give them any more evidence unless they have a video recording of it in person. They deport eye witnesses because they were in the country illegally. They just want the tapes to develop another excuse why they are inadmissible. These guys are scam artists.

    2. tommy on October 9th, 2005 3:56 pm

Why are you glossing over this travesty:

You guys think it’s OK to with hold evidence?

WTH? Now that is ridiculous! Why wouldn’t the Dr. Phil Show turn over the original tape to the prosecution? To me, that is an obstruction of justice. If Deekak said that, then let’s do something about it. If he didn’t, Dr. Phil needs a swift kick in the arse for turning this into something embarrasing. Beth is getting enough critisism as it is.

I THINK DR PHIL SHOULD GIVE THE TAPE TO THE ARUBIAN PROSECUTOR WITH NO RESTRICTIONS, BUT I THINK NEED WANTS TO MAKE SURE THAT EVERYONE SEES THAT THE ARUBIAN GOVERNMENT CAN LIE ABOUT IT.

    5. tommy on October 9th, 2005 6:17 pm

How long has BHT known about these tapes? Why did she not insist that they be authenticated by the FBI and passed on to ALE? How can a person claim that Aruba is creating a coverup when she herself is sitting on this tape evidence for months.

    6. Stefani on October 9th, 2005 6:37 pm

i want the aruban prosecutor to come on the dr. phil show. if they r doing such a “great” job with the investigation, what do they have to lose ? IF they are doing a great job, come on the show, what a great way to redeem Aruba regarding our usa boycott against them.

    7. bizman on October 9th, 2005 9:03 pm

The tape is a work.It is not evidence of anything. If it were any truth to it it would have been presented as evidence prior to the infamous Sept 1st decision to release them.

It is a complete sham for Dr. Phil (not much of a doctor, more like Dr.Tabloid) to try and make a buck via ratings to demand that the prosecutor appear on his show. The U.S. government would never do such a thing and I applaud the Aruban authorities for having enough backbone to stay away from the tabloid shows.

How about Dr Tabloid hop on a plane and deliver it to the authorities or to his local FBI office. What a sham this becoming.

    8. dennisintn on October 9th, 2005 9:14 pm

i hope dr. phil can have the fbi certify the tape as original before its turned over to aruba. things have a way of disappearing down there, as well as spun completely out of context. dr. phil needs the exposure for this and the american public needs to see the turnover so we can combat the pvds lovers who twist every thing around trying to make natalee and beth look like less than they are. there is a serious anti-natalee/beth campaign going on that i think is in some cases being paid for by aruban authorities. its way too organized to be individuals acting on their own.

    9. Richard on October 9th, 2005 9:27 pm

Suppose he finds out that they are authentic … then what will Aruba do? Frankly, at this point it wouldn’t surprise me if they destroyed the tapes and then said there is no evidence ….

HarryTho Sunday Night Natalee Holloway Update And Commentery

How could someone like Beth Twitty who runs down everything the Aruban investigators do allow a confirmed blonde-womanizer, placed in the vicinity of Natalee’s accommodations, in possession of stolen items form the Alabama teens, like Mickey John, esc…

    11. scarlettthecreek on October 9th, 2005 11:44 pm

Why not give them to the FBI and ask their forensic experts to make a copy for the Arubans? The FBI could agree to retain the original to preserve the chain of custody (if it isn’t hopelessly screwed up already) and make two copies: one for the Arubans and one for Jamie Skeeters, since it’s his property. If Natalee had disappeared here, our law enforcement authorities could just subpoena the tapes. The Arubans can’t do that because their subpoenas are worthless outside their country. But this business about having the Aruban prosecutor come on Phil McGraw’s show to get the tape is bullcrap. No prosecutor in the world would do that.

    12. molly on October 10th, 2005 12:32 am

scarlettthecreek, such wisdom. Great Idea! If Dr. Phil is so smart, he should follow your advice.

    13. Dutch on October 10th, 2005 1:44 am

Dr. Phil is only in it for the ratings. He is not interrested in Beth, the Truth, Aruba or even Natalee. He is the one covering up. He is covering up for the failure of his weight loss program. And it might be possible that the tapes are doctored or really not that relevant and Dr. Phil is making them more important than they are. If Dr. Phil is looking at missing person cases in the US I am sure he will find some cover ups by the US authorities, then he and Skeeters can make some nice programs about that. What do you say ? Boycot Texas?

    14. mom11 on October 10th, 2005 10:25 am

I’d go one step farther and have the FBI send the tape to the authorities in the Netherlands, have them verify and copy then THEY can sent it to Aruba. I doubt the prosecutor will “lose” a piece of evidence that has been verified and copied by both the FBI and the Netherland agency.

    15. 10061906 on October 10th, 2005 12:18 pm

Again the dutch government has us chasing our tails. The fact remains and you have to assume this has happened; Natale is probably dead. if so where are they searching for her remains?
OK a long shot, she is alive, ok where?

    16. commonsense on October 10th, 2005 4:44 pm

Maybe Dr. Phil won’t help turn in the tapes because he, Beth, and Jamie Skeeters know that it is a hatchet job, edited just right. Come on. You all heard it. They showed you the parts you wanted to see and hear, but even a 14 year old can tell they cut off and spliced together. I am not saying that it is a conspiracy, but I am sure that if you heard the WHOLE tape, you would not have the same thoughts. Well, the “Boycott Aruba” crowd might not change, but open minded individuals would see that the Dr. Phil show was a sham.
Speaking of the boycott- I see that in yesterdays Chicago Suntimes, that travel to Aruba continues to be higher than last year. So much for the boycott.

    17. maggie on October 10th, 2005 9:06 pm

Natalee Holloway is dead. Let’s get real, she is not going to turn up alive.

I am sure her family has come to terms with that. They just want the ‘perps’ put away, and so they should. I think Dompig’s comments are correct. These cops know the boys are involved, but they just cannot pin them for it. It’s such a shame they cannot. Everybody is still writing up blogs in regards to this case, because most of us desperately want some sort of evidence to be found, so these boys can be charged.

    18. Pat on October 10th, 2005 11:53 pm

It’s outrageous that Dr. Phil would play this game (if this is true), and yes, the FBI would seem to be the safe way to proceed. However, there is something more interesting here to me. In the face of all the rhetoric from the task force and other government officials, here is one who is hinting at someone he thinks could be guilty. Is it possible he is trying to get a little wiggle room? I bet when this is all over and done, they sell out (stop protecting) the Kalpoes and probably the VDSs too, in order to get out of this fix they now find themselves in. It will be a last resort, but I bet they will. Hopefully they will do this sooner rather than wait until it has had a devestating effect on their economy.

I don’t think I would have let anyone search my residence either, after the initial greeting the van der Sloots faced. Awoken at 3 AM, Jug shouting at them and calling them names, etc. Just being bombarded by a bunch of people, being rudely awakened and questioned while the brain is still in sleep mode. would put a stop to any further agressive break ins by these loud and accusing people.
After you have read this site, feel free to See what RWV and Harry Tho have to say.

    20. Tem on October 11th, 2005 3:48 pm

Getting the tapes is one thing, getting Deepak to confess to the same questions by police investigators the other. Jamie’s tapes are worthless for prosecutorial purposes in Aruba (and in the US!).

    21. Linda in L.A. on October 12th, 2005 2:48 am

Websleuths supposedly has an email written by Mr. Skeeters regarding turning over the tapes. I’m not positive but believe they have been able to verify the authenticity. You all might want to go read it. If it is authentic…one more lie and/or coverup…and not by Beth.
