As reported earlier today by one of our Monkeys, Another Monkey on the Discussion Forums:

Talking to an acquaintance in Aruba right now – People Magazine reporter touring caves, someone found LONG BLOND [hairs] WITH DUCT TAPE in the cave, police there right now!

Upon the reports coming in, at that moment the People Magazine reporter, along with several local media persons were at Turtle Cave just to look search. Initial reports were also that apparently the ranger had called the police saying a piece of duct tape had been found with what looked like long blond hairs. Turtle Cave appears also to be called Cura di Tortuga, or turtle garden in English.

To reach this destination you will need to have a 4-wheel drive vehicle or you can ride on horseback. There are many road signs warning you that cars are not the preferred method of travel to this swimmers’ paradise.

It has been verified to Scared Monkeys by Julia Renfro, Editor & Chief of Aruba Today via email:

Yes, the park rangers were doing a routine clean up of the area today and found duct tape with long shoulder length blond hairs in it in a cave. We have confirmed that this area had previously been searched by the Aruba Search and Rescue team, so the thought is that it was either missed on the original search or recently placed there. The Aruban police took the articles and will have the hair analyzed in Holland and compared to the DNA previously provided by Beth Twitty and Dave Holloway.

After arriving on the scene and taking possession on the potential evidence “a team of police officers checked the surrounding area for nearly 2 hours looking for other possible clues”. In a case with what appears to be so few leads maybe this one will prove to be the one that steps up the search and pressure for those that are responsible for missing teen, Natalee Holloway. One begins to speculate could one get to this location at night. As a source in Aruba has reiterated the same difficulty of getting to this location:

“The Honda could NEVER have gotten there… then somebody who knows the way well to make it there. As for disposal of a body, there’s hardly any sand to bury someone in there, and to throw a body in the sea there is sort of fruitless as the sea would throw the body right back up on the sand.”
