I’ve received report that Natalee’s mother is at the search site and has been seen crying – one Aruban authority was overheard to have pronounced the case resolved.

I want to know if Natalie’s disapperance has anything to do with the young girl who disappeared in 1998 from the same club?

    2. Justin T on June 14th, 2005 5:32 pm

your confused she didn’t disappear from the same club. She had been there but actually disappeared from a her ship when she was on a curise and they were at anther island not Aruba

    3. Red on June 14th, 2005 5:41 pm

Sorry not sure if this has been mentioned have been a bit busy.

How is it that this area that they are searching has not been searched prior to today? I thought there were on going searched from the beginning? This area is near the hotels; one would have thought an area within 1 mile of where Natalee was claimed to have been left would have been searched?

      Anyone with that info?

    4. Sarah on June 14th, 2005 5:48 pm

The girl that disappeared in 1998 never went to that club. She was invited to go by that guy on the ship but she refused. She came up missing the next morning after she turned down his invite. To my knowledge she never sent to the club.

I am confused as to why this area was never searched. From the way the reported. the entire island had been searched extensively. Sounds like to me they only searched areas where the 3 boys claimed they took her which of course they lied about that.

    5. Sharon on June 14th, 2005 5:55 pm

Actually, if you ladies are talking about Amy Bradley, she was on a cruise ship and was docking in Curacao. She went out about 5:30 a.m. to get a smoke and was never found–they assume that she went overboard–or at least that is the story that the family was told–they were on the cruise with her. She didn’t leave the boat or disenbark at Curacao on her own. The family stated that they saw her at around 5:15 or 5:30 to get a smoke–she was barefooted and only took her cigs and lighter from her room.

It has been stated that she was spotted a couple of years later at a brothel and stuck her head out of a door and stated her name and asked a sailor for help. Never found because the brothel was burned to the ground soon after. Of course, this is rumor and/or speculation.

    6. Oscar Mayer on June 14th, 2005 6:02 pm

FOX News had the guy on who found the Women’s underwear, Condoms and Pieces of duct tape. He said the underwear was pink with flowers and the tape was black tape.

    7. Jerry on June 14th, 2005 7:12 pm

I just wonder if there were any other victims of rape or rape and murder? Now would be a good time if any other women were sexually assulted by this boy . That would definately keep him in jail for a long time.

    8. Northpaw on June 14th, 2005 7:13 pm

Please tell me: why such great attention to this? Hundreds of people go missing every week or month in the States. Why give this one so much attention?

    9. Booyakasha on June 14th, 2005 7:18 pm

      Cause she’s hot !!!

    10. frankdags on June 14th, 2005 7:20 pm

Ithink now is the time we should just wait and see what if anything is found.

    11. da wench on June 14th, 2005 7:21 pm

Northpaw – This is getting so much attention for several reasons. One, being the media. This is a very well-to-do family, a huge mystery on an island frequented by well-to-do travellers. The reason I feel so compelled to talk about it and find out what happened is because Natalee is “everyone’s daughter” as her mother has said. Any mother watching this has to feel heartbroken for Natalee’s mother. I was told over and over by my mother and I tell my daughter all the time, “Bad things happen to good people, even if they are where they are supposed to be.” Natalee was under the influence of alcohol and used poor judgment getting into that car with 3 strangers. That doesn’t make this her fault. Her friends used poor judgment in letting her get into that car with 3 strangers, but that doesn’t make it their fault either. I think we are going to have some answers today. The friendship between these 3 boys is falling apart and it’s everyone for himself. The truth is going to come out and when her body is found, forensic evidence will tell the authorities everything they need to know.

    12. ztriggz on June 14th, 2005 7:23 pm

      reasons for such imediate attention:

first off, A wonderful Mom that would do anything for her daughter.

including pulling in all of her favors from her important friends including those from her daughters school. She managed to get a DEA agent at the hotel within a few hours, and was then flown by private jet to Aruba escorted by several Alabama millionares. I am in no way saying this is wrong. I salute her for doing whatever it takes, this whole thing is sad… :(

Looks like they are stopping the draining of the pond at the site where they found the panties and condom. Are the Aruban authorities just chasing anything now? If that is the case they must have absolutely no information from the three punks in their custody. Sad.

    15. Connie on June 14th, 2005 7:38 pm

They interviewed the gentleman that found the panties, and he said that the police had searched that area, prior to when he found the articles.

How could those things have been missed? Was this guy just trying to get some attention and plant the items? And, why was someone with no connetion to the police allowed to handle evidence in such a high profile case?

They showed the panties on the news after this guy found them, they look awefully big to belong to someone as petite as Natalie.

    17. Jerry on June 14th, 2005 7:50 pm

Notrhpaw – She is the all American girl and Aruba is trying to protect is reputation.as a tourist destination.

    18. Jerry on June 14th, 2005 7:56 pm

Does anyone know how much Natalie had to drink that night. There is still the possibility she was drugged I guess we are supposed to believe these liars that she was drunk.

    19. Cheryl lJohnson on June 14th, 2005 8:06 pm

I will never ever go to Aruba. THe governemnt and authorities are clowns. I know that the Dutch boy hurt Natalee. THey should have never arrested the security guards. What a dumb country. The Dutch suck!!!!!!!!!!

    20. jen on June 14th, 2005 8:08 pm

i’d like to know what kind of friend would allow another friend/aquaintance/class mate to leave a bar with 3 locals, not only that but they watched her leave in a car alone with 3 guys who they said appeared odd.

    21. Reese on June 14th, 2005 8:10 pm

Does any one have any new info? all the sudden everything seemed to have stopped. Is there another web site that has info?

    22. da wench on June 14th, 2005 8:11 pm

      From Reil World:

RELEVANT!!!!!!!!! Once again, in case some of you missed this on my last post, I found this explanation of events leading up to N’s disappearance. It was apparently written by the mother of one of N’s friends who was on the trip.

      Posted on: 10:48 am, today
      http://www.tripadvisor.com/ShowTopic-g1-o610-k170488-i9659-Off_topic_chatter.html

“NATALEE WAS NOT THE GIRL WHO WAS SICK IN THE BATHROOM AT C&C’s! My daughter had already told me she was puzzled by that story ’cause she neither saw nor heard anything of the kind regarding Natalee. We were at the vigil yesterday and they were discussing that… It turned out to be other girls on the trip. Somebody had mentioned that at church and these girls went, “Oh no! That was US!” It was definitely not Natalee.

My daughter spoke with Natalee right after C&C’s closed.

My daughter & her friends came across Nat & Joran as all were exiting the club, and all were walking more or less together toward another group of classmates.

Natalee was walking unassisted (not falling down drunk), spoke ok (though not answering in long sentences), and was not touching Joran. My daughter only noticed that Joran was tall, dark-haired, American-looking; he did not speak and she couldn’t read his facial expressions.

Nat turned down my daughter’s invitation to go with her little group. (Ironically, they were about to circle the inside of another club to make sure no others were left behind.)

Nat assured them that she was fine, and said she was going to go back to the hotel “with THEM,” pointing to the MBHS group just a few yards ahead.

The Kalpoes were nowhere in sight; neither was the car.

Next Alana heard was that Natalee got into a car that many in the group had thought was a taxi. (Those look like regular cars.)

It may be that the Kalpoes pulled up on the street before Natalee reached the next group; Joran may have deliberately stalled her. The group may not have even realized she was behind them, approaching. But while we hear that she got in the car willingly, we know from her comments that it was not her pre-planned intention.

Because of this, I do not believe she knew she would be going anywhere but a fairly short distance down to the hotel. Her plans changed in the blink of an eye, and she was gone.”

    23. New Creature on June 14th, 2005 8:18 pm

Jen, You asked what kind of friend lets another leave a bar…etc? When you are a teenage girl, and your best friend is totally beligerant and says something like “I’m a big girl, and I can take care of myself”, usually you get ticked off and let her do whatever she wants. All the while seething inside. I work with teenagers every day. The same kind of brain that says “I’m safe with three foreign guys I don’t know”, is the same kind of brain that let her go. Teenagers don’t really have an understanding outside their own selfish desires. This isn’t meant to put down teens, they just have a limited view of the world. No wisdom. Wisdom comes from experience. Don’t blame them for being what they are- teenagers. They are little kids in full-grown bodies.

    24. jen on June 14th, 2005 8:19 pm

why didn’t anyone notice that she was missing upon arriving back to the hotel later that night. Was Natalee staying alone?

    25. Jerry on June 14th, 2005 8:20 pm

I thought she sat and drank with the 3 boys at c&c and then left with them , seems everyones story is changing.

    26. jen on June 14th, 2005 8:23 pm

Sure my best friend may say “I’m a big girl, and I can take care of myself”, regardless there is no way i’d let any of my best girls take off with a bunch of strangers, at least not without a fight.

    27. jen on June 14th, 2005 8:25 pm

Regardless of what did or did not happen – my prayers are with her family and I hope she is found alive

    28. tom on June 14th, 2005 8:45 pm

Did these kids go on this trip alone, without any adults?
Were there no parents or teachers, chaperones along?
18 is very young for this type of trip, like sending your kid to Vegas for graduation.

    29. Timoteo on June 14th, 2005 8:46 pm

I pray for a miracle, if at any time, why not now? C’mon Lord, Please…

    30. littletxlady on June 14th, 2005 9:17 pm

JMHO…I know it is easy to critize and blame others when something horrible happens, but I think it would be better to channel the negative into positive. Whatever has happened has happened, no one can ever change that. Hopefully we will all know the truth soon. It is a sad, sad situation for everyone involved, including the 3 in custody and their families. My heart breaks for each and every one that this tragdey has affected. I hope for a miracle….. and I pray for comfort, healing and peace for all.

    31. Arubian on June 14th, 2005 9:36 pm

I’ve read in the local newspaper that somebody has claimed that they saw somebody that resembled Natalee walking around in Ponton (near Oranjestad). The called her name, she turned around and ran away as fast as she can.

    32. lydia675 on June 14th, 2005 9:49 pm

      Thats BS

    33. Brianna on June 14th, 2005 9:50 pm

      what local paper, Arubian?

    34. iamnoone on June 14th, 2005 9:51 pm

      Typical Aruban gossip

    35. Justin T on June 14th, 2005 9:52 pm

      Arubian,

Those stories just kill me what a crock of crap… So the theory is she must of run away.. yeah right!

the lawyers down there are trying to trash this girl and make this out to be her fault. The police have screwed this investagation up from day one. You don’t release prime suspects for 10 days…. no excuse for that move at all. They let potential evidence get destroyed or tainted at the very least. They let them get attorney’s and collobrate their stories. Great Police work.. Then the system down there allows the lawyers trash Natalee. Pretty sad and sick

    36. Brianna on June 14th, 2005 9:54 pm

Well, let me just say this…
this is my first time to post (second if you count that first comment) but Ive been reading the site regularly since all the news broke about Natalee
I am from Birmingham, but I don’t know the family. I know the area and have known people from that area, but other than that I have no ties.
I think that at this point some type of closure, whether via a body or not, is what would be best for the family…my thoughts are with them, understand, but I can’t imagine a parent having to live out their lives wondering where their child is and being able to do nothing about it.
I have prayed from the beginning and will continue, and only hope that wherever Natalee is she is in the hands of God…

    37. gaijin on June 14th, 2005 9:54 pm

      AiA, Arubagirl, Nativelingo..anyone around?
whole thing again today another run around?
      wht are you hearing?

    38. Jerry on June 14th, 2005 9:56 pm

I think these boys will be off the hook if they come up with something concrete very soon. Need some local girls to come forward and say they were drugged and raped by these punks to really stick it to these guys.

    39. iamnoone on June 14th, 2005 9:57 pm

There’s rumor going around that no Aruban could have commited the crime against this girl since 98% of Aruban males are…..should we say..”light in the loafers” or a little “fruity”

    40. Brianna on June 14th, 2005 9:59 pm

iamnoone, I would argue that so are 98% of the men in San Fransisco…

    41. JayFreddy on June 14th, 2005 9:59 pm

Obviously you’ve never seen a male that’s a little “fruity” throw a “pissy fit!” It can get downright nasty!

    42. gaijin on June 14th, 2005 9:59 pm

none of these three are “aruban”..if that were even true…they are all “off island”…..
its jut a slur against the country..

    43. ztriggz on June 14th, 2005 9:59 pm

Aruba is going to lose most of its american tourists over this.
This is far bigger than some of them realize.

    44. Brianna on June 14th, 2005 9:59 pm

Besides, who says it was sexually motivated?

    45. Jerry on June 14th, 2005 10:01 pm

What else would a 17yr old boy want?

    46. annie on June 14th, 2005 10:01 pm

i would still go to aruba. you cannot blame a country for one crime. how many crimes are commited here each day?

    47. Brianna on June 14th, 2005 10:01 pm

My theory was that it may have been accidental death (overdose) and the boys freaked out and dumped the body, knowing they would get in trouble and daddy is a judge…debatable if it was whether she knew about the drugs being given to her or not. But with the brothers saying they dropped Joran and Natalee off, that throws the theory. I don’t know what’s going on.

    48. Jerry on June 14th, 2005 10:02 pm

I say they have done this before just never caught at it!

    49. gaijin on June 14th, 2005 10:03 pm

Tom – is ther another link going somewhere? where is Arubagirl AiA or native or gabriel? are they on another thread?

    50. Brianna on June 14th, 2005 10:03 pm

Jerry, some people just have a lust for blood, or drugs, or friends and popularity, or a multitude of things that are non-sexual. Who knows. Not every teenager is hormone driven. Im not saying he wasn’t, but Im saying thats not 100%.

    51. iamnoone on June 14th, 2005 10:04 pm

I heard that the three suspects were dressed as members of The Village people when they appeared before the judge. Joran was dressed as the leather-clad cop…..I mean that’s like totally homo erotic. What’s up with that???

    52. Brianna on June 14th, 2005 10:05 pm

iamnoone, you would probably be our best informative on a gay lifestyle, why don’t you explain?

    53. Jerry on June 14th, 2005 10:06 pm

      Brianna

Speaking as a man when I was 17 that is all I could think about was getting some? I think most males would agree with me . Some people are bolder in there actions.

    54. Justin T on June 14th, 2005 10:08 pm

      Brianna,

If is was an overdoseI will bet anything and everything it was administered by the 3 punks. This girl was not a drug user. No doubt they all had a hand in this deal…..

    55. iamnoone on June 14th, 2005 10:09 pm

Aruba is just such a “happy” island; this is a cryptic message, or double entendre for all of you pedantic oriented people.

    56. Jerry on June 14th, 2005 10:09 pm

      I agree Justin T

    57. Justin T on June 14th, 2005 10:10 pm

      Jerry,

NO QUESTION at 17 your totally Shaft Driven.. and throw in the fact you have a Great looking Blonde haired blue eyed Southern girl from America…..

    58. S.Taylor on June 14th, 2005 10:11 pm

I know it has been a couple weeks but has anyone heard information on whether the Aruba police have found any form of intelligence within their organization? I’m also curious if these people are considered the “smart Arubans”, what are they average Arubans like?

Besides the violent crimes that go unsolved in Aruba, I wouldn’t go because it seems they are some of the dumbest fuckin people on the planet.

    59. Jerry on June 14th, 2005 10:11 pm

      Brianna

Men are at there peak when they are 17 and 18

    60. iamnoone on June 14th, 2005 10:13 pm

Some of the “girls of the night” in Aruba-mostly Colombian- are very HOT!!! Natalee is beautiful, but some of these “chicas” are amazing so don’t kid yourself. The locals know where to find the babes.

    61. Jerry on June 14th, 2005 10:15 pm

When your use to screwing whores all the time I guess you dont know how to deal with a real lady.

    62. iamnoone on June 14th, 2005 10:16 pm

      S. Taylor- They’re not dumb but the problem has to do to with their lack of experience dealing with the media. Everybaody in Aruba wants to be on FOX, CNN, NBC, etc; they’re apt to give erroneous, conjecture based information because they’re all excited being on the big screen.

    63. Justin T on June 14th, 2005 10:16 pm

      iamnoone,

that may be true about the “girls of the night” but that is entirely different flavor and if you can believe what has been written or really picked up from this one kids web site he considered himself quite the ladies man… So there is the challange and I still say he and his boys just didn’t liek being told no.

    64. Jerry on June 14th, 2005 10:17 pm

      Amen Justin T

    65. iamnoone on June 14th, 2005 10:18 pm

Jerry- The fact that trivialize these woman and write them of as “WHORES” tells me a lot about your opinion of woman…….girls, stay away from this Jerry character since he’s displaying anger management symptoms along with unresolved power issues.

    66. Brianna on June 14th, 2005 10:20 pm

yeah I think if she did OD the drugs were given by the three kids…either convinving her to take it or putting it in her drink…

    67. iamnoone on June 14th, 2005 10:21 pm

My theory along along is that this girl’s life was probabaly taken because she told whatever guy NO which invoked feelings of aggression; she subsequently insulted his manhood or said something that really blew his gasket resulting in strangulation.

    68. ScaredShitless on June 14th, 2005 10:21 pm

      I’m still: scared shitless!

    69. Brianna on June 14th, 2005 10:22 pm

I mean she’s only 18, still a child, naive in her ways im sure and someone took advantage of that. I just hope the Arubian police convince themselves that they need to solve this case. And while theyre at it, find Amy Bradley

    70. S.Taylor on June 14th, 2005 10:22 pm

      iamnoone-

If you don’t know how to be a police officer, you shouldn’t be one. That is like being a doctor and killing people and saying “well I don’t have experience as a doctor”. Just doesn’t work that way.

I’d also add that this was a cover-up for the white dutch boy. What a joke of a country. Lets hope the tourism industry to Aruba goes elsewhere and someone takes a knife to the 3 losers in jail.

    71. Jerry on June 14th, 2005 10:23 pm

So are you a shrink or what? What is a lady of the night? A whore? O is that a nasty word to you maybe because you are a whore! Does that offend you. Or can you hold a conversation without be offended talking about whores.

    72. Brianna on June 14th, 2005 10:24 pm

Speaking from personal experience, she could have had roofies or whatever put in her drink so he/they could take advantage of her and they gave her too much or something went wrong. Ill just tell you, and don’t give me any sympathy because God healed me, but I was date raped and had something put in my drink. It took days to get the junk out of my system and sleep it off…I can imagine that too much could kill someone.

    73. villain_braker on June 14th, 2005 10:25 pm

Yeah …. Aruba_Girl ….. maybe the next thiung you’ll hear is that Natalee was abducted by aliens …..

The handwriting is on the wall people ….. these three suspects were in on the crime together …. sooner or later, the bullshit stories will come to an end …..

there is absolutely no reason to lie about a situation as grave as this one ….. these three have been bullshitting from the very start and like all other criminals they think that they would get away with what they did to that poor, unsuspecting girl …. who knows how many times they’ve tried doing this with a hot American girl … this one unfortunately fell for it …… I hope I’m wrong …. but geez …. two weeks and no sign of her

      S. Taylor….Bitch…please!!!! Lets hope the tourism industry fails because “I” S. Taylor can’t get my gossip answers soon enough..wheeee wheee….. everybody must suffer for this and all Arubans must starve. You are one logical thinker

    75. Brianna on June 14th, 2005 10:27 pm

hmmm. there are some big people in here. very mature. and they use naughty words. wow. Im impressed. CAN WE BE SUPPORTIVE AND TALK ABOUT NATALEE?!?!?!?

    76. S.Taylor on June 14th, 2005 10:27 pm

It’s not gossip answes. The crime should have been solved. Some 17 year old kids are outsmarting your entire country.

People should go on vacation to countries that can protect their tourists. You guys have proven you can’t.

    77. iamnoone on June 14th, 2005 10:28 pm

Jerry-Not offended by whore but you’re getting very defensive. Are you allright? Or were you abused by your parents or bullied at school. You sound just very angry and vitriolic. I think Straterra or Abilify, or perhaps Seroquel might help your unstable mood.

    78. Justin T on June 14th, 2005 10:28 pm

I just think they are all three equally guilty. That is why this case is not resoloved. If only one was guilty the others would sell him out in a heartbeat. Even though the two are brothers there would be a split. They are all playing the game by saying hey if none of us cave in they can’t pin it on any of us if otherwise we all go down.

Today’s events of jumping on what wsa told to the guard they released tells me just how little progress they have really made. They don’t have a clue where she is which is very unfortunate.

    79. Brianna on June 14th, 2005 10:29 pm

So did the investigation in front of the hotel stop at dark? Any new info from that?

    80. ztriggz on June 14th, 2005 10:30 pm

drugs or not, they are lying over and over again.
which indicates they are guilty of something.

If it was an accident and they buried her, thats still murder in my country.

I agree on the cover up, they bypassed taking these 3 in way too long.
Thankfully her Mom put some real heat on this, the media machine
went after it once the FBI got involved.

    81. Brianna on June 14th, 2005 10:31 pm

Justin, it is unfortunate, especially when you consider the fact that these are kids they have in custody. It’s not Al Cappone or something. It looks like they would be able to crack them pretty quick.

    82. Brianna on June 14th, 2005 10:32 pm

ztriggs, I agree. Sad part is, they’ll never receive justice because dutch law doesn’t allow for a death penalty.

    83. Justin T on June 14th, 2005 10:32 pm

      Brianna,

I read something today that at the end of the night Natalee was standing out front with these three guys and had indicated she was going back to the hotel. They were getting a cab when this gray car pulled up. From what I read you can’t tell the difference down there between cabs and regular cars they look the same. Perhaps just perhaps she thought she was getting into a cab and sharing a ride with these guys…. This comes from one of the girls who was on the trip with her and had this acutal convesation with her. So who knows maybe she didn’t intend to leave with them and they tricked her…. it just all sucks..

    84. Jerry on June 14th, 2005 10:32 pm

      Iam0

Not upset one little bit I think you are reading way to much into what I am saying and I suggest you see a doctor and those drugs you read off are probable the ones you are taking.

    85. iamnoone on June 14th, 2005 10:33 pm

This is so funny. !!! All of the cabs in Aruba are clearly marked. They have to by law. Unbelievable

    86. iamnoone on June 14th, 2005 10:34 pm

      No, I prescribe them

    87. Brianna on June 14th, 2005 10:35 pm

I really have no doubt that her better judgement was compromised, whether from her partying or their tampering with her sobriety. She may have not been fully aware of the repurcussions (sp?) of her getting in a car with 3 male acquaintances. ‘Scuse my spelling. I’m a college student. :)

    88. Justin T on June 14th, 2005 10:37 pm

      iamnoone,

Like I said that is a story coming from someone who was there.. Clearly marked..perhaps by your standards…. no so true compared to here. Nor is it true in mexico where they are all marked but at night you have to look to be sure as they can be any color and any kind of car…

    89. Brianna on June 14th, 2005 10:40 pm

Seeing as their will probably not be any new developments until tomorrow, I’m going to go. God be with you all, especially natalee.

    90. iamnoone on June 14th, 2005 10:41 pm

I maintain in home in the U.S and one in Aruba; Aruba is not like Mexico or Jamaica. Yes, it’s a small island with a tourist economy but the average per capita income is almost higher than that in the U.S. They take care of their tourists because they know it’s a major source of income.

    91. ztriggz on June 14th, 2005 10:42 pm

wow I saw some mention that her friends thought she
was getting into a cab (the Honda) as many cabs are unmarked

      yet another inconsistency?

kinda like the 17 yr old gambling with the judge

    92. iamnoone on June 14th, 2005 10:44 pm

They don’t really enforce the drinkng age all that much. They’re a little stricter on checking id’s in casinos, but just like in the U.S.; kids here are also crafty at faking id’s and finding ways to get into clubs. It’s not a practice exclusive to Aruba.

    93. NM on June 14th, 2005 10:46 pm

Regarding Best Friends preventing you from leaving a bar with a stranger.
My 2 best girlfriends practically made me leave a D.C. bar with a guy we just met at a bar. And you know what happened… 2 1/2 years later I hear him snooring in our bed room next to where I’m typing.
We’ve all avoided doing stupid thing and have done stupid things.

    94. Crys83nALABAMA on June 14th, 2005 10:46 pm

Hi all…they said on the news that nothing had become of the evidence that was found or tonights search. In my opinion, especially considering this area had already been searched, this evidence was possibly planted here…possibly a decoy. Did you see the interview with the guy that found the stuff, his eyes kept shifting…its too perfect for these itmes to all be together just in some bushes

    95. ztriggz on June 14th, 2005 10:47 pm

      nite Bri

and aside from all this, my prayers are also with Natalee and her family

who cares if she was drunk or chose to kiss that jerk,
if it was that simple why are those three hiding it.
no is still no, she was obviously not a crack hoe from new york
its silly to justify anything cause she was drunk, again in the US
the Bartender would be in jail too now!

    96. Crys83nALABAMA on June 14th, 2005 10:47 pm

I also agree with the person who said Natalee was more of a challenge for these guys, they really were used to “whores” per say…Girls who would give them some with no fight.,…remember the pics and msgs on Joran’s website

    97. Crys83nALABAMA on June 14th, 2005 10:48 pm

      Hello? Anybody still here?

    99. formeraruban on June 14th, 2005 10:54 pm

I used to visit Aruba often in the eighties and CRYS83, I’ve got news for you. Aruban boys knew that if you wanted to hook up for one night you would go to the hotels and clubs to meet American tourist because they’re more willing than local girls. They’re often out for an adventure. In 1986 I hooked up with nine girls one summer……it was crazy and fun!!! I still talk to some of them to this day. Facts are facts. I’m not saying that Natalee is “easy” but a lot of other American girls were too easy.

    100. Crys83nALABAMA on June 14th, 2005 10:57 pm

Well, ya know, this is not the eighties anymore. It has become a well known fact that Natalee was not this kind of girl. Not all of the American girls who visit are Christian girls from Alabama…

    106. formeraruban on June 14th, 2005 11:01 pm

No, you’re right. They were Christian girls from Conneticut, Mass., Pennsylvania, Virginia. Christianity is not an “exclusive” club; it’s an ACTION based faith that compells you to comfort and help hookers, criminals, misfits, prisoners, the hungry, the poor, etc. It’s not a pretty goodie two shoes religion country club.

    107. Crys83nALABAMA on June 14th, 2005 11:02 pm

Besides, that was not exactly the point I was trying to make, until you have lived in alabama you would not understand…we are different here….I believe that the evidence found today was “too perfect” I think it was planted, possibly as a decoy

    110. formeraruban on June 14th, 2005 11:05 pm

    113. formeraruban on June 14th, 2005 11:10 pm

Crys83. One of my co-workers is from ALabama-no I’m not making this up- and he is the most depraved perverted moral reprobate that I’ve ever met. Great funny guy but he’s got a sexual perverted mind. He still has a house there and visits often. In life, you can’t generalize people because of their nationality, race, or geography. Italians are gangster, Puerto Ricans carry knives, Dutch people are cheap, Irish are habitual drunks……we’re all individuals.

    114. Crys83nALABAMA on June 14th, 2005 11:12 pm

      Crys83nalabama,

No doubt you are right it is different in the “South” and u do have to be exposed to it to understand it. As for the evidence being planted. Hard to plant “her” panties. DNA will prove if they belong to her or not and there is a good possiblity her mom would know if they were hers. Now this is kind of funny in a not funny situation but the comment was made that they seemed way too BIG for such a petite girl. So don’t worry about the planting of evidence. IF the codoms are used well those are easy to track to the person too…..

    117. formeraruban on June 14th, 2005 11:15 pm

By the way, Aruba is a Dutch colony and there are plethera of unbelievably good looking blond blue-eyed dutch girls roaming the island. Although not ubiquitous, the Arubans are used to blonds.

    118. Crys83nALABAMA on June 14th, 2005 11:16 pm

I agree, but we also have to consider the fact that he heard that from one of the brothers and it has been stated that they seem to be casting the blame on each other…also the staement I made: They could have a “hot” Columbian girl anytime, but not a decent girl from Alabama

The U.S. has some MAJOR problems protecting young children from repeat sex offenders an child molester. Just in the last two years we’ve had about three girls abused and killed by these “registered” sex offenders. Who are we to complain about the Aruban authorities?????

Truthfully this is not about the country of Aruba/ but it is a HUGE problem for them. The police force just looks very Incompetent. You don’t let your primary suspects go just becusae the one kid is the son of your best friend…. A kid who has a history of violence, anger issues and was busted last year selling a movie of him and his buddies gangbanging a 14 year old that daddy got covered up….

hopefully the family with have a resolution in the end. :(

my main complaint is that early on, these three were bypassed and
given too much time to cover things up. Too quickly they moved in one single direction and caught severe media and international heat almost instantly over racism. The investigators early on being personal friends of his father. That was a huge problem not forseen by them, I doubt they ever thought this would become an international incident which it is concidered here in the US. They did make some mistakes law enforcement wise. where it all goes from here will redeem thier legal system.

Hopefully they call in thier best asap, much is on the line now

    166. Booyakasha on June 14th, 2005 11:57 pm

Free love is another thing…..1960′s Woodstock if I’m not mistaken

    167. Justin T on June 14th, 2005 11:57 pm

Well that was disappointing….. They said they had some of the kids on… What kills me about all this crap about making this trip. And oh how could you let them go to this foreign country where there are no rules.

What a joke! These kids had just graduated and were headed off to college in 2 1/2 months . AH HELLO! do you think there isn’t drinking, drugs, rape at college. Only rule I had was to be awake in time for Happy Hour and a free meal…

Of all places to go Aruba was considered one of the safest to go. Have any of these people seen springbreak anywhere in the country. Stop making it an issue about Aruba. It’s not its about 3 very bad kids.

    168. NativeLingo on June 14th, 2005 11:58 pm

As usual booya… :) at least you keep us entertained…

    169. JayFreddy on June 14th, 2005 11:58 pm

Why is it the Aruban officials keep saying that they expect to have the case solved in the next 24 hours? They keep doing that! Maybe they should extend their range a little bit so we don’t have so many let down expectations!

    170. NativeLingo on June 14th, 2005 11:59 pm

Booya, when you come down, you, Arubagirl and I should get together for a drink….
I think we deserve it :)

    171. Connie on June 14th, 2005 11:59 pm

Do you think they will allow the FBI to interrogate the three young men? I read earlier that they were allowed to watch interrogations, but were not allowed to ask questions.
Since Aruba isn’t used to crimes such as this they really don’t have the knowledge to ask the right questions. The FBI deals with stuff like this on a daily basis, I personally think it would help the investigation alot if they could ask questions (or at least tell Aruban officials what questions to ask)

    172. Booyakasha on June 14th, 2005 11:59 pm

Mi a caba di skibi un otro di mi “press release” pero e moderator no kier pone ariba e board.

    173. JayFreddy on June 15th, 2005 12:01 am

Connie, supposedly they brought in some experts from Holland that are better in interrogation tactics…

    174. NativeLingo on June 15th, 2005 12:02 am

Connie, my guess is that the FBI is indirectly doing the interrogations….
I think they are directing the whole thing…

    175. Connie on June 15th, 2005 12:03 am

Ahh okay, I didn’t see that. How long before you think the boys will crack and tell what really happened? Maybe if they put them all in seperate rooms and told them that the others confessed? Just a thought, maybe it only works in movies.

    176. gaijin on June 15th, 2005 12:04 am

Native…I know this is a terrible situation…..and that the country will suffer from this in the short term…but perhaps..in the long run,,..some good will comeof this..where the local government, especially with the Pm running for relectiion, will tighten up on some of their own laws, obeying their own drinking age, a 17 year old running thru their bars and gambling hotels, and pehaps some of the drug dealing that is susposed to be going on…which I know does goes on everwhere…but..in a resort island..where perhaps they should be watching closer, perhaps it will tighten up and people will feel “safer” there after this…because they know the govm is watching closer now….I need to think somthing positive will come out of this childs death/murder…and Aruba will never allow this to happen to them again…

    177. JayFreddy on June 15th, 2005 12:04 am

If I was one of those boys I wouldn’t say Jack anymore…

I for one don’t want this government to come back…..

    184. JayFreddy on June 15th, 2005 12:10 am

Hey Booya…did you see Geraldo was going to shave off his mustache if the jury would’ve found Michael Jackson guilty???

    185. gaijin on June 15th, 2005 12:11 am

      So..you DO blame them to a degree….

    186. NativeLingo on June 15th, 2005 12:13 am

I didn’t vote for them….never liked them…… (bunch of populist idiots if you ask me)…

I blame them for not cleaning up the drug mess especially in the CnC area….

    187. Booyakasha on June 15th, 2005 12:13 am

He did say that. But FOX is planning on creating a new reality show entitled “Sharing Your Bed with Geraldo and Michael Jackson”

    188. gaijin on June 15th, 2005 12:17 am

so..this is an episode of an environment that was predestined to happen…if I hear you right…and that this is a crime…that could have been prevented…or at least..it could have been policed better….it was ineventable……at sometime…the environment predestined it…

    189. JayFreddy on June 15th, 2005 12:17 am

Hey Booya, what are the conditions required to be a contestant on that reality series?

    190. NativeLingo on June 15th, 2005 12:17 am

LOL LOL Booya…. :) (still here i see)

    191. kristina on June 15th, 2005 12:18 am

Am I imagining things (I have read sooooooo many posts the last two days), or did I read that Joran and / or his brothers were somehow involved in porn movies???????

    192. Booyakasha on June 15th, 2005 12:20 am

Requirements are that all contestants must be male, they must wear Spiderman logo pyjamas, survive a week with Geraldo and Michael eating only Animal Crackers, Goldfish, and drinking Juicy Juice grape flavored juice boxes.

    193. President on June 15th, 2005 12:20 am

I read about a porn movie a few moments ago…second time I heard it.

    194. NativeLingo on June 15th, 2005 12:21 am

Booya… Oh STOP it :) LOL LOL

    195. NativeLingo on June 15th, 2005 12:22 am

      Kristina….so not trye…those were Geraldo’s stories….not true though…
he would say abything to spice up any story

    196. JayFreddy on June 15th, 2005 12:22 am

Shoot…I don’t think they make Spiderman logo pajamas in my size….

    197. kristina on June 15th, 2005 12:23 am

Was Joran involved or only his brother? Just wondering if these 3 guys make porn movies???????? It might blow apart the theory that they were just teenagers drinking and things got out of hand. . .there may even be some tape available??????

    198. Booyakasha on June 15th, 2005 12:23 am

Geraldo starred in porn movies in the seventies, mainly the “Latin Boricua in Mrs. Jones” series and the “Give to me Papi” series starring Samantha Breastesis

    199. Judge Judy on June 15th, 2005 12:23 am

Is that true that Joren and his buddies taped a session with a 14 year old? Where did that story originate? (It is referenced in an earlier post tonight.) Thanks!

    200. ztriggz on June 15th, 2005 12:23 am

Geraldo reported that they sold copies of a gang rape video of a 14 yr old girl while out at clubs. He stood behind it, so I don’t know if they have a copy or what. US media is
      pretty careful about false reports.

    201. JayFreddy on June 15th, 2005 12:24 am

He does have that porn star mustache…haha…

    202. NativeLingo on June 15th, 2005 12:25 am

      About porn movies…

      here goes……

    203. JayFreddy on June 15th, 2005 12:25 am

Gang rape or Gang bang?…two different situations…

    204. ztriggz on June 15th, 2005 12:26 am

he said that he’d shave it if Micheal Jackson was found guilty too heh

    205. Judge Judy on June 15th, 2005 12:26 am

Thanks ztriggz . Makes Joran and crew seem even slimer than I imagined possible.

    206. Booyakasha on June 15th, 2005 12:27 am

In one of his movies, Geraldo actually pulls large pieces of rattan patio furniture out of his rear end. Very revolutionary for the 1970′s, but he’s always been a little of an iconoclast and ahead of his time.

    207. President on June 15th, 2005 12:27 am

US media careful about false reports?! LOL I HOPE thats sarcasm!

    208. ztriggz on June 15th, 2005 12:27 am

      hmm good point Jay

I cannot recall which word those chose to use…

    209. kristina on June 15th, 2005 12:27 am

Well maybe that was the point in the three taking Natalee to the lighthouse. . .or one of the reasons. Just wondering if anyone has searched for any tape.

    210. gaijin on June 15th, 2005 12:27 am

Then ..therein lies the crime..the locals are upset with the local govmnt not cleaning up the area around CnC..and thereby endorsing a crime environment….the same as Chelsea, or Queens, or downtown New Orleans…

    211. ztriggz on June 15th, 2005 12:28 am

      yeah Pres it sorta was

      always remember Capones tomb ;)

    212. NativeLingo on June 15th, 2005 12:28 am

Sometime last year, ther was an incident about a homemade porn movie involving a 14 year old….not a gang bang, but she did in fact have sex with different boys on the video/dvd….neither Joran or brothers were involved, but they may have copied and sold copies…ALOT of boys sold copies…..

    213. President on June 15th, 2005 12:28 am

Amen about New Orleans! (I live there)

    214. Judge Judy on June 15th, 2005 12:28 am

Booya- I am rotfl about the patio furniture from Geraldo’s butt. You people here really know how to make all of us lurking in the backround laugh! Goodnight all.

    220. NativeLingo on June 15th, 2005 12:30 am

Gaijin, I’m not saying that drugs had anything to do with it, but the drugs gave the press “material” to use for the bashing and bad publicity….. that’s my point…

    221. NativeLingo on June 15th, 2005 12:30 am

      Si Kristina…..

(if he did) I just get a petty clerar msg he a totally arrogant jerk…

and no the people of Aruba shouldn’t paying for them, that sucks.
      but they will unfortunatly.

    224. kristina on June 15th, 2005 12:32 am

    253. kristina on June 15th, 2005 12:48 am

This was just reported in Costa Rica – A similar situation to Natalee Holloway’s occured there about two months ago. . . a big international story. . . .really very similar to this one. . .some local girl was said to be involved.
Body found in Costa Rica may be missing Australian —

      The Daily Telegraph and News

AUSTRALIAN authorities are unable to confirm reports
that a body found in Costa Rica last week is that of
      missing Melbourne student Brendan Dobbins.

Costa Rican police have said dental records from Mr
Dobbins matched those of a body found near where he went
      missing, according to ABC radio.

But the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade said it
had not received official confirmation the body was that
      of Mr Dobbins.

    254. lisabobeesa on June 15th, 2005 12:51 am

ok..but did aruba girl say that word was that one of the 3 stated they did in fact bury her…or was this just rumor?

    255. NativeLingo on June 15th, 2005 12:53 am

      I think it was rumor…..

The whole search today, I think

    256. NativeLingo on June 15th, 2005 12:55 am

      sorry…

The whole search today, i think, was a result of one of the guard’s testimony…

Native… question. Is it a big “party” culture (I am concluding from pic I have seen of Joran’s friends and such) at their ages? I know it is a normal thing mostly in the Netherlands but it seemed to me like Joran was as “normal” as his friend in that regard.

    270. Ari on June 15th, 2005 1:47 am

The missing body (if dead) is truly a mystery. The search efforts were extensive, involving hundreds of
soldiers, divers, dogs, and the local population. Considering all this, it is unlikely that her dead body
      is anywhere in Aruba.
Some of the posts are extreme. They convey a protestant ethic that belongs to another century (if not
another planet). Common sense says: two 18 years olds leave a club, they like each other, and are
eager to make love. There is nothing more natural than that. They have two more friends with them, and
it is most likely that they ask to be dropped off at a place which is walking distance to the Hotel, so that
they can enjoy some privacy. What happened after that, is really puzzling. But remember, Joran is not
a New York psychopath who chases a jogger in central park. He is with a girl that likes him, and
keen to enjoy her last night in Aruba.

One thing that nobody has mentioned, is that two 18 year olds making love in the beach are somewhat
vulnerable (both of them), even in a peaceful place like Aruba. But this doesn’t lead anywhere.

Another direction is: was there someone among her classmates that had a crush on her, who could
become furiously jealous when he saw her leave with the Dutch boy. Someone, that as a result
of this could not go to sleep and was pacing furioulsy around the Hotel. But even in this case, where
      is the body.

although remotely possible these three boys are unharmed
nothing has been offered to indicate anyone else involved.

perhaps she got drunk fell and bumped her head and he went for help
and pirates took her to brazil?
anything is possible but the “facts at this point” indicate otherwise.
all they have to do is speak up…

she ended up there possibly under own free will, but yet why did this caring young innocent group of troubled teens leave her helpless and drunk on the curb of her hotel in his first story. hes a loser.

that made me sick wheni heard it…
these guys are dirty, far too many lies

    274. Rob in Santa Monica on June 15th, 2005 3:29 am

Exactly. If the three boys had nothing to hide, they would not have lied about returning her to the hotel. 1, 2 or all 3 of them definitely knows and is responsible for what happened to her. They’ll crack eventually. They should use sleep deprivation or beat them if necessary imo.

    275. Frustrated on June 15th, 2005 3:54 am

There are several things I don’t understand:

Why would the Aruban police believe everything these three punks who are obviously trying to wiggle out of this, say? They say oh it’s here and the Aruban police jump. They are liars. They are lying to each save their petuties. Isn’t that obvious?

When this happens here, when each party is trying to pin it on the other, they use it and leverage it to make one of them sing. I understand Aruba doesn’t have experience in this, so why don’t they let the FBI help???

      >

If this is true, isn’t it obvious that Joran is dangerous??

It seems to me the Aruban authorities just keep compounding their inexperience with ineptness which is making them look worse and worse in the world’s eyes. Don’t they want to save face and just solve the case? Bring in the interrogation experts from NY or LA!!

I think this is actually quite cruel to the Holloways and while they can’t extradite, they can sue the Aruban authorities for negligence, undue pain and suffering.

    276. Frustrated on June 15th, 2005 3:56 am

My quote didn’t take in my last comment. I was cutting from another post that said Joran had a video of he and friends gangbanging someone. Isn’t that a crime? If that is still around, can’t the Aruban authorities use it to threaten to press charges if he doesn’t start talking??

    277. Ari on June 15th, 2005 4:06 am

It amazing that the perspective of most posters is centered around the US Justice system.
There are 6 billion human souls on this planet and 300 million in US (5%).
There are universal values of course, but a lot of the demands and complaints
are based on laws that are particular to only 5% of the human beings on this earth.

Why does NY or LA have the best interrogation experts? For one thing the Israeli’s leave
      them in the dust.

    278. Rick on June 15th, 2005 4:54 am

A round up of information from today’s news reports, some of it quite disturbing.

I’m leaving out most of the bits about the two released guards and their reports on the conversations they had with the three suspects as that has been widely reported. What has not been widely reported and what caught my attention:

Geraldo Rivera reported on Tuesday’s “O’Reilly Factor” that he has heard from an “impeccable source” that the chief investigator into this case in Aruba was overheard saying, “How can I do that to Joran, he’s the son of my best friend” – referring to Joran’s father, a member of the Aruba judiciary.

During their incarceration, the two guards were each only questioned _twice_.

Once at the beginning and once at the end, each signed a statement. If true, this would be a crime in and of itself to have a murder or missing person suspect left to sit on their hands for a week without vigorous interogation. Every moment that went by was another moment that could have resulted in the location of Natalee – yet there were only two interrogations during the course of a week – while the three who last were known to be with Natalee were taking exams and enjoying their freedom?

Joran was said to have participated in a “gang bang” with a 14-year old girl and that a videotape of the crime was being sold by individuals in Aruba. I suspect that it’s just a matter of time before a copy of this surfaces.

Joran was again said to have “anger management problems,” confirmed through several sources (I heard this last week from a reporter at DIARIO); There was additional confirmation about his having pushed a classmate through a window, that he was a bully.

Regarding Joran’s alibi, as reported by one of the released guards – it has been pointed out that it would have made no sense for the two brothers to drive in one direction to drop Joran at home, then drive back past Carlos & Charlie’s to drop of Natalee.

Stories of email and text messages will likely be confirmed or disproved via phone records and the seizing of Joran’s computer.

Natalee’s friends dismiss the rumor that Natalee was sick in the bathroom of Carlos & Charlies – this was reported and confirmed on Dan’s Riehl World weblog. On Scared Monkey, Natalee’s friends have said that she looked tired, but in a way they haven’t seen before… And that she wasn’t stumbling or falling down as she left Carlos & Charlies.

To me, the most upsetting items reported were the overheard comment apparently suggesting preferential treatment and a reluctance to proceed against Joran. If the chief investigator indeed made that comment (and Gerlado was adamant about his source), it would not surprise me given the turns of this case – and the impossibly brief amount of time that the suspects were interrogated.

By now, we all know the three are guilty of something, almost certainly Joran (his new alibi is the least plausible and is completely illogical.) The question is, when will he crack and give it all up? With the chief investigator already indicating reluctance to work on him, the answer may be “never” – unless the pressure from the media exceeds that of his loyalty to Joran’s father.

    279. trippleM on June 15th, 2005 4:55 am

May i point out to you, that Aruba has an different law system than the USA.
In fact it’s Dutch, and we’re not allowed to interrogate like you americans can.
If there’s one little error in the investegation all three will walk freely and cannot be caught for this crime ever again. So it may look to you that the Arubian police is slow and inexpirenced but i’m sure that they will do all they can.

I’m sorry i’m not happy with it eather !!

I do not want to repeat all the bullet points that Rick has written just above this post. Please refer to his post anytime any of those who think there is not a huge problem with the provincial and corrupt Aruban officials.
This is getting more madening by the minute. I say bring back the 2 guards in to interrogate the 3 of them. We just might get somewhere then.

      Total Random Theory-

Could dutch boy’s father (Judge) have called in a favor to protect his son? This could involve using a corrupt individual (ex. policeman) of actually helping in trying to cover up any wrongdoing. The police or Marines, etc. could actually be searching for evidence that one of their own may have disposed of. Not suggesting complete corruption by any means, but in almost any organization, there may be many very good people, and a few “bad apples”.
May seem wild theory, but it was also kind of wild how 2 security guards picked up without any decent proabable cause.

anything at ALL new this morning guys? Have to get some work done today but want to catch up here first – my mind just cant concentrate on work these days!

    287. SouthernerinUS on June 15th, 2005 8:31 am

Natalee is likely similar to many southern girls from nice homes with caring parents. They trust too much and as a rule, are also taught to be friendly to others. If she was provided drugs it’s also likely her judgment was impaired, so it’s amazing so many have questioned her judgment.

As for Joran it is very apparent his parents have not taken heed to MANY previous alerts of his aggressive nature and anger problems. The very fact that his father has been barred from visiting him in jail is also very telling – that happened for a REASON> amazing he as an instrument of the law (judge or attorney), would challenge such a decision.

The clues are all there, a path a mile wide now, like father – like son. They either respect the judicial system or are well-versed in getting around it – each day it appears to be more of the latter.

    288. roy on June 15th, 2005 8:32 am

I feel bad for her parents but I think this was a done deal in the first week. The Dutch elite in Aruba made sure that they will never find the body and the murderer is going to walk free. They probably know that the body will never be found. I feel bad for her parents b/c they will never have closure.

“The clues are all there, a path a mile wide now, like father – like son. ”

Indeed. Apparently they would at times go to the casino together. At 17 this kid broke many laws that his parents… even though his father is a justice official and his mother a teacher…must have know about…. drinking, in the casino, driving, and using drugs.

    291. SouthernerinUS on June 15th, 2005 8:41 am

as a mother I awoke in the middle of the night from a nightmare that my own daughter was missing – I guess we can add the tropics to the growing list of havens for monsters who destroy young females and I for one – won’t allow my daughter to go to the caribbean now. oddly enough my son went to st.john’s over spring break with his girlfriend’s family and was accosted continuously for he looks a good bit like Michael Phelps. now I guess we’re lucky he’s as physically large as he is, or he might have made a good kidnap/ransom target.

about Amy Bradley, her own family says she had returned to the boat, the brother says his sister had returned from a night out on the island and then went out on the balcony outside their cabin

if you want to use the same logic as in this case, her brother was the last person to see Amy Bradley alive, so technically isn’t he a potentially prime suspect

Mr. and Mrs. Bradley got a lot of money? only two kids, get rid of the sister, hmmmm

    294. marie from maine on June 15th, 2005 8:57 am

who is michael phelps? I dont blame you for being sensitive to your children… but really bad things can happen, and being sheltered from life is one of those bad things… im sure that you raised your children to be careful and have good judgement- this is a freak situation that should have been solved by now- each day that they make us all wait creates more anxiety…. there should be higher security “afterhours” in these places… it is so sad- but, try not to worry too much southernin… this was rare and also shouldnt be as “mysterious as all of this”

    296. cancon on June 15th, 2005 9:01 am

PS I agree with the assessment of Geraldo, you have to take anything he says with a grain of salt, though he did report that this kid has anger management problems and that seems to be confirmed by other sources – however I noted no one had jumped on that story yet so we’ll have to keep our eyes and ears peeled……

if the story of the videotape is true, it certainly is strong evidence vs the Dutch kid and if the police knew anything about this, it makes the fact they didn’t arrest him and his friends right away even more suspicious and/or incompetent……

    297. marie from maine on June 15th, 2005 9:05 am

i presonally thing Geraldo is an embarrassment to the US- i wish someone would just take the microphone away- he is an injustice to our freedom of speech- frigging ambulance chaser hiding behind our constitution!!!!

    298. cancon on June 15th, 2005 9:07 am

Marie, firstly I was addressing the point that this girl went missing on the island, my understanding is and I’ve heard this story over and over again this week, is the last person who saw Amy Bradley alive was her brother when she returned late from the island and he said she went out on the balcony outside their cabin…….now of course one can speculate that she was snatched as she was wandering around the boat etc.

otherwise I’m just using the same logic as in this case, and you know what, a good police investigative team assumes everyone is a suspect, even every single family member, and when you do, you are less likely to miss what could be crucial evidence, now presumably the brother was eliminated as a suspect, but if the same Caribbean keystone cops were investigating that disappearance as this one, who knows….

sounds like Joran has the typical liberal laissez faire Dutch parents – I mean when you go out underage drinking and underage gambling with your father….

not my parent’s generation, of course, who are Dutch but moved to Canada in the 1950′s wave, who are part of the old Europe that grew up in the Depression and World War II, and therefore are more conservative

SoutherninUS–I think you’ve hit on why this case is so compelling, for me at least. As a southern girl who’s just a few years older that Natalee, I’ve done my time on the Caribbean spring break circuit as well, and have probably been too friendly and trusting just like she may have been. I’ve discussed this case with many friends who agree with me that it could happen to any girl with a big smile and a friendly personality, who’s on a vaction to have fun with her friends and flirt with boys. She just picked the wrong boys to get in the car with.

It’s so sad that being less trusting of people is a lesson we have to learn, but maybe this case will make future girls like Natalee think twice before making tragic mistakes stemming from the belief that nothing bad will happen to them. I pray for Natalee’s family and friends–and for justice to be done to those who may have hurt her.

“New Search Launched for Natalee Holloway…Dozens of police officers launched a new search today in Aruba for clues in the disappearance of Alabama teen Natalee Holloway in a brushy between the Marriott Inn and the beach that is known locally as a lover’s-lane area…No official searches have been conducted by police in more than a week in the case. This whole thing makes me mad. This should have been solved along time ago. Just think if this was president Bush’s daughter that had gone missing. This would have been solved in no time. I don’t care what their laws are. It is an american that is missing – our people should take control of the situation and bring who ever is responsible for this back to the U.S. and take care of him our way. Aruba is not used to dealing with these types of situations – they rarely ever do. So why would anyone thing that they can deal with this. I remember seeing on the news yesterday the boy that found the pair of panties and he is waiving them through the air like he had found a prize. This could be evidence that probably is worth nothing now. Our government should be down there taking control. We all pay alot of money to taxes and alot of that money is waisted for no reason. This is a good of example of how our money could be spent well. Why can’t our government put up a million dollar reward. If I had a lot of money I sure would put up a good chunk to go towards a reward.

I believe that Aruban officials have blood on their hands as well as their beaches. I would not visit Aruba, if tourism is such a big part of their economy they should do what is right in this case, whether it is someone of priviledge or someone of poverty. It could very easily be your daughter or loved one or my daughter or loved one. Natalie Holloway should be the one put first here, everyday I have to search deeper in to the news for any reports, her face is not on the headlines anymore, as the media forgets so do the people, she will be Amy Bradley soon (if you are saying who? then my point is proven) even if I had a booked reservation paid for I would not go except to help search maybe. This is wrong and to look the other way and still visit Aruba is wrong, nothing motivates as a kick to the pocketbook, let Aruba feel the effect of a drop in tourism as America’s way of saying we care about all of our Americans and we will not support a country that will not give up it’s guilty. Going to Aruba gives continued support of their actions. If anyone goes there let it be to help the family of this missing girl, take a poster and stand in front of their justice system asking “Where is Natalie?” If interest dies in this case, the hope of finding her dies with it and the people who committed the crime or have knowledge of it walk free to be among you while you vacation. Who could go to Aruba and feel content with a killer, kidnapper, slave trader, rapist, or whatever that person is walking among you.

I have lost a 22 yr.old daughter.I know. I pray from bottom of my heart that she could be found. The investigations should been on going.Things needed to be checked out immediately. I do believe in cover up. Have we not seen it in our justice system? of course we have. Now all these investigations is going on under a nose of someone whose interests are in conflict of interests. The father, the son.The family should stay there and see to it that everything is done right. The history of the son gives me a very bad feeling. God bless the family and friends, may all these wondering end up to see sweet face of Natalee.

They took her to the beach and her heart stopped and she died. Freaking out, they decided to hide the body.

Or I think it is likely that this was a consentual sexual act and/or a date rape turned into murder. *shrugs* They both seem to hold water to me, though obviously that is just my opinion, no one can know for sure.

I just hope the truth comes out, and if it is those kids, that they rot in prison for it.

Jacki: you mentioned the best thing is to boycott the turism. This will put them on action. When people travel they tend to relax on everyday concerns and worries. That how our trusting young people end up in this bad judgement. It is Aruba’s responsibility to answere to this very bad situation.

    325. curious on June 15th, 2005 2:00 pm

I think a lot of the publicity is because she is pretty and smart and people don’t expect bad things to happen like that to nice girls. It does and all parents need to let their children know everytime they go out of the door, that bad things do happen, even to them. They always talk about more sex education in schools, I think they need more awareness of crime.

regarding comments about Natalee’s family being “rich”, that may be misleading as well. It is true that the MountainBrook area of Birmingham is more affluent, but this is also a public high school that has students from various circumstances. Case in point it isn’t likely her mother would choose to teach, if she didn’t have to work – or she might but it’s not the impression of those of us living in the south, that they are “affluent” or “rich”. It is likely they are a middle class family.

her parents knew how to contact media and tap into contacts they had, to gain assistance with the search. Perhaps there is a lesson within that, but honestly it’s probably not pure money driving this. Yes she is pretty and obviously very bright, but many teachers who aren’t paid nearly equal to what they contribute, raise children who are committed to their educations.

in many of cases of disappearances often those found murdered had no one checking to see if they were home on curfew or even caring to pursue them night & day if ever they ran away from home. idealistically any parent who has a child would do those things, but this is reality – many do not.

Check out any number of missing people websites and you will find numerous mysterious disappearences through out the whole world. No Country is immune to this, and as sad as it is, people go missing every day . Of course not everyone gets the coverage this case is getting. Of course my heart goes how to her family and friends and hope there is a resolution to the case soon. But I am also sure that other families who have missing loved ones would be estatic to get even 1/10th of the attention she is getting. Guess my point is that this missing case is important but shouldn’t be any more important than the thousands of missing people who go missing every single day.

    328. TheTruth on June 15th, 2005 5:30 pm

“Guess my point is that this missing case is important but shouldn’t be any more important than the thousands of missing people who go missing every single day.”

Exactly. The clout of her family (and yes, they are very affluent) and their contacts (likely many politcal contacts) is a large reason US law enforcement has been so involved. Do you think they send FBI teams out to look for every missing person? Pffft, yeah right! And her being white, and attractive is a big part of the reason for the media press. Its not her fault, its not a criticism to her or her family, heavens no, its just reality.

Same story with the Peterson case. Wives get murdered almost everyday, yet when it is a rich white girl from Modesto, the world stops.

      I am pondering this statement:

John said Kalpoe told him the brothers figured Holloway would turn up “a few days after, in some crack house or beach bar.”

This was said after Kalpoe admitted the previous stoy about dropping her off at the Holiday Inn was a lie. So this was not an elaboration on that make believe.

      My thoughts on this:

      1. When did the brothers (but not Van der Sloot) have this discussion? Was it after VDS and Natalee had left the car to be alone? Is that when Natalee did not want to leave the car? Was that after they had all driven off leaving Natalee somewhere?
      2. Why was the presumed timespan a few days and not the next morning? Did they know that whatever she had ingested would take that much time to wear off? That does not sound like a hangover.
      3. Why did they think that she would be alone and not with VDS? Was it because they knew VDS had to be at an exam the next morning? Was this the usual behavour of VDS?
      4. They seem to know that crack houses exist in Aruba. Where are the
      they? Near a beach bar?
      5. Wasn’t the only murder in Aruba last year drug related? Where did that happen? Was it investigated or ignored? If you are murdered in Aruba do the police shrug it off as a drug related death?

The statement implies, to me, that the brothers knew that she had been given a powerful drug, was left somewhere alone and was abandoned by VDS (and them). There doesn’t seem to be any remorse or concern. Or
maybe it is just another lie.

      Anybody have an opinion?

    330. dutch/arubian woman on June 15th, 2005 6:53 pm

cheryl johnson: you cant be sayin things like the dutch suck. at least they have tried anything to find her! its cnn who comes with the wrong information all the time because they just gettin desperate. i live in the netherlands but i am a arubian girl. well let me tell you somethin at least arubian peolple are raised not to get in a car with 3 guys you dont know drunk and somewhere you havent been before. no dissrespect for her family because i care to and search the web for information to the whole day. but that poor girl should have known better.so ik hope they find her soon so she could get her peace because one thing is for sure nobody deverses what she has been through. whatever that may be.

    332. dutch/arubian woman on June 15th, 2005 7:00 pm

and one more thing. aruba have never had such a case like this. where ion the world u could say that nowadays? that should tell u somethin about my beautiful island. lett we all hope this was the first and last time and that peoplo who go on vacation in the future will think more straight after you get drunk and decide to take a ride for somebody u have none how long? so i tellin everybody not to blame aruba for this because the earth didnt open and swallow her alive. i dont wanna hurt people with my words but i got kind of a point and all u guys out there are thinkin it.

    334. Hoover John on June 15th, 2005 7:58 pm

Here’s how I feel about this situation:

I travel some outside of the US. I’ve never been to Aruba, but I’ve always wanted to go there.

So, if Natalee comes home, one way or the other, AND there is a legimate conviction, then I’m willing to view Aruba just as I have in the past.

But if that does not happen, then I will spend my money and my time elsewhere. There are some places that my “gut feeling” says to stay away from. That’s how I judge other tourist destinations.

May Gods mercy be with the Holloway family.

    335. curious on June 15th, 2005 8:57 pm

Dutch Arubian Woman, how do you know she was not drugged or knew the other two boys were in the car. A lot of the other kids rode with locals too because they were nice to them. Maybe because you people say constantly it is such a non violent island, they were not careful. I also saw kids from Ohio being filmed and they said they were going to Carlos and Charlies and didn’t care what their parents said. That was disrespectful to the Hollaway family…

    336. dutch/arubian woman on June 16th, 2005 5:53 am

i know that she was drunk because i rather believe my family over there who spoke to enough people there that she came out of the club drunk instead of cnn with there miss perfect story because nobody is perfect. well if u say she was drugged maybe she was but wich girl in 2005 doesnt know that u should not leave ur drink standin for people to put something in it. and about the other kids who drove with locals because there were so nice they all made the same mistake natalee made but for them it ended good. so i still say how ignorant could u be to get in a car without ur friends with strangers and without knowing them ; she was there for 5 days even if she knew them from day one what do you really know about them! but i know she only knew them for 2 days so im not sayin things without knowing what im talking about.

    337. Robert on June 16th, 2005 11:48 am

I found on web a site about bible code. There is a sectiom on Natalee Holloway’s disappearance and where she might be. It’s interesting reading and maybe something is true.

      Robert,

I would say that this simply defies logic and common sense, and that one must be REALLY gullible and naive to put ANY credence in this. But, instead, I am going to lower my maturity level and say… this is the stupidest thing I have ever read in my life!

    339. Jackie on June 17th, 2005 1:59 am

      Robert,
I went to that website. I think there are many possibilities and you could pretty much come up with anything you wanted to from that jumbled mess of letters. I had a dream about the #’s 42, and something to do with a monkey (or gorrilla) and bushes that looked like Bonsai trees, a turtle, the #’s 93 and 94 . Natalie Holloway has been on my mind heavily since this happened, but my dream makes about as much sense as that website. Sorry.

I believe it’s very good that this case got into the World’s Media attention.Maybe this way other prevous cases will be solved, because I am sure there are.
I have the feeling that Aruba’s gov is hiding something. I think the gov knows what’s has been going on and the fact that hi-level VIP’s of Aruba are involved, the gov is trying to cover up. I hope this time , the case will be solved and the other girl from 1998 will be found too and maybe others.

    341. traveller on June 18th, 2005 11:06 am

Another possibil idea: maybe she was drugged, passed out and the boys got scared and threw her out of the car. They left and they don’t really know what has happened, but it would nice for them to say where they dropped her off.

    342. Dutch on Aruba on June 20th, 2005 6:48 pm

Aruba boycot: tourist numbers are actually great. Tourist wanna go check out C&C and the lighthouse.
Also: Wealthy family or family with connections: if your daughter would be lost would you think a reward of US 5000 would do? Family itself possibly assumed she was only missing because the posters hangin all over aruba say: “Natalee, please call Mommy.”

    343. Duncan on June 23rd, 2005 1:49 am

      Reward is $55,000.00 not $5,000.00.
Probable, an average middle class family being helped by a truly caring society. A missing child should be brought home regardless of whether he/she is dead or alive, for closure.

The father of the missing Amy bradley is interviewed at length in the bottom most right hand download. The full story. very similar to Holloway case. White slavery, Aruba a rathole run by drug lords, all kinds of evil.

    345. jim liddell on June 29th, 2005 7:46 am

the reward now posted by AmSouth Bank in B’ham is $150,000 for “safe” return of Holloway girl.
