Before the boys dropped allegedly dropped off Holloway at her hotel, they went to Arashi. At the beach Van der Sloot and Holloway were allegdly fooling* around in the backseat [*'vrijen' cover a multitude of sexual acts, from kissing to having sex.], while the brothers Kalpe were sitting in the front seat of the car. Van der Sloot already knew Natalee from the day before when they would have met in the casino of the Holiday Inn.

      ————–

This was from Riehl WOrld View, I think it explains the different reports regarding what happened in the car. If this was the word in the report from the suspects then we might not no the extent of the contact for some time.

    3. Nate on June 12th, 2005 11:10 pm

Is there any construction going on around the Holiday Inn there?

    4. IDontKnowNuttinAndKnowMoreThanYou! on June 12th, 2005 11:10 pm

K and Tanya, you are soo right.

    5. NativeLingo on June 12th, 2005 11:10 pm

      Yes Nate….the marriott

    6. NativeLingo on June 12th, 2005 11:11 pm

and a new mall across the street from th HI

    7. Sarah on June 12th, 2005 11:11 pm

What is the brothers reputation on the island? What did the other Alabama teens think of these boys, didn’t they spend time with them at the Casino?

    8. Tanya on June 12th, 2005 11:11 pm

I am sure Natalee has not been the first with these three. Somewhere is another girl who may have escaped with her life and has kept silent for some reason or other. They should find out

    9. K in TX on June 12th, 2005 11:11 pm

But I still just don’t think that a girl who is known for her good reputation would go off and have sex with some guy in the back seat of his car, especially when his friends were in the FRONT SEAT!

    10. GAGUY on June 12th, 2005 11:12 pm

who was driving the car when they left C&C. Was Natalee in the front seat or the back? anyone know?

    11. NativeLingo on June 12th, 2005 11:12 pm

      Don’t know Sarah….don’t know them

    12. arubagirl on June 12th, 2005 11:12 pm

Native, yes I have to work tomorrow.

    13. Nate on June 12th, 2005 11:12 pm

what kind of construction? lots of digging? or renovating or what?

    14. IDontKnowNuttinAndKnowMoreThanYou! on June 12th, 2005 11:13 pm

Natalees friends did not like him. Even had a scuffle/

    15. Sarah on June 12th, 2005 11:13 pm

I heard somewhere that the 3 boys got into an argument or fight with some of the Alabama teens. Anyone else hear this?

    16. DT on June 12th, 2005 11:14 pm

K, I don’t think so either, especially since no major news source is reporting this. Interestingly enough, sean hannity made this claim on air and was corrected by a reporter who said that they were just making out. One of the lawyers said it was making out and “a little more” and a lot of reports have said that he fondled her.

    17. NativeLingo on June 12th, 2005 11:14 pm

      Everything I guess….nate

    18. Jerry on June 12th, 2005 11:14 pm

I think the only accidental death that occured was the fact she might have od on the rophynol they slipped in her drink.

    19. IDontKnowNuttinAndKnowMoreThanYou! on June 12th, 2005 11:14 pm

GAGUY, I’ve been asking the same. No answer.

    20. Tanya on June 12th, 2005 11:14 pm

Drunk or drugged girls do things not normally done ( others are temporarily blacked out) but shewould have woken up if one of the other guys got involved and was directly in her vision. She would have reacted

    21. DT on June 12th, 2005 11:14 pm

Fox reported that there was an altercation between joren and some of the alabama group at C&C’s.

    22. K in TX on June 12th, 2005 11:14 pm

Yes, I think it’s been pretty well confirmed. However, it seems as if it was more of a shouting match than an actual fist type of fight.

    23. BamaBabe on June 12th, 2005 11:15 pm

She probably wouldn’t have gone off with three strangers usually, but they might have given her something to cause her to lose her inhibitions.

I heard that there was another girl in Boston who is saying that she was with Joran on her vacation in Aruba and that he became “aggressive” with her. Don’t remember where I read that.

    24. Sarah on June 12th, 2005 11:15 pm

Hmmm Jerry, that could be it. The boys could have freaked and dumped her somewhere.

    25. NativeLingo on June 12th, 2005 11:15 pm

      Yes Sarah….here’s the link: http://www.postherald.com/me061005

    26. Nate on June 12th, 2005 11:15 pm

Well, I’ve worked construction before, and let me tell you, they better search the heck out of those areas…it wouldn’t be hard at all to hide someone….

    27. DT on June 12th, 2005 11:16 pm

I assume she got in the back seat since that is where she and joren were making out, and since no onereportedly did not get out of the car at the lighthouse

    28. Tila_Bean on June 12th, 2005 11:16 pm

So what if she had a good reputation. Alcohol makes you lose your inhibitions. She could have possibly had sex with one of them if not three as horrible as it sounds.

    29. friend of mickey john on June 12th, 2005 11:16 pm

      tanya-
I read a post 5-6 days ago that said her name is/was tracy/tracie and jorans name mentioned in that post in connection. Short post def here but I am too busy too look. I know I saw it. You are prob right. This time joran will be caught,

    30. SoInSo on June 12th, 2005 11:16 pm

Definitely w/Tanya – think that’s why they said in so many words SHE was out of control – stumbling, not letting them help her. Very incriminating to me.

    31. concerned on June 12th, 2005 11:17 pm

I think it’s strange that the car belonged to Joran, but he was in the back seat with Natalee. Most guys tend to be peculiar when it comes to their vehicles…and as much as he appears to like to show off, I just find it odd that he allowed his friends to sit in the front seat and drive his car while he made out with her in the back seat. My gut feeling is that he dropped them off before things got hot and heavy with her. I agree that it’s also very unlikely that Joran made out with her or had sex with her while these two just sat in the front seat…twidling their thumbs as they listened to the sounds of passion??? I don’t think so….

    32. IDontKnowNuttinAndKnowMoreThanYou! on June 12th, 2005 11:17 pm

One of her friends said in Bham paper that he broke up the shoving match.

    33. Jerry on June 12th, 2005 11:17 pm

There could be other girls that have been raped by the 3 punks but were to ashamed to say anything about it.

    34. NativeLingo on June 12th, 2005 11:18 pm

Nate, I believe both sites have 24 hour security guards on duty

    35. GAGUY on June 12th, 2005 11:18 pm

if Joren was the driver and Natalee was in the front seat as well, the would have had stop somewhere and get out to get into the back seat.

    36. Rafa on June 12th, 2005 11:18 pm

      Friend of MJ

by the way both the old golf course and the dog graveyard are on the same latitude or eastern end of the island. And tnx for the compliment. Send your dreams as they unfold.

    37. arubagirl on June 12th, 2005 11:18 pm

Jerry, that’s a very real possibility.

    38. Booyakasha on June 12th, 2005 11:18 pm

FOX NEWS- Geraldo just came out of the closet, much to the dismay of his conservative colleagues at FOX news. He will be performing a duet with chief of police Gerald Dompig, singing a medley of Barry Manilow and Johnny Mathis love songs by the pool at the Gay Caballero hotel next to the Holiday Inn. Rumor has it that they will also perform the Lambada(the forbidden dance) with pyrotechnics TNT cannons.

    39. Nate on June 12th, 2005 11:18 pm

      NativeLingo…oh really…a security guard huh?

    40. Tanya on June 12th, 2005 11:18 pm

She was angry and no not infront of hotel She proberly would not get back in the car after fighting to get out.

    41. arubagirl on June 12th, 2005 11:19 pm

concerned, are you sure that the car is Joran’s? Because if his dad gave him the car, then no wonder that he didn’t become a judge.

    42. NativeLingo on June 12th, 2005 11:19 pm

No ruffies related cases ever reported…most likely a lethal combination of alcohol and XTC….as far as I know, XTC cannot be “slipped” you actually have to swallow it,

    43. Sarah on June 12th, 2005 11:19 pm

I think they slipped her something while in c&c, told her either they were going to take her back to the hotel but convinced her to go take a gander at the light house with the intentions of having sex with her while she was all drugged up. And while there, something worse happened and they dumped her.

    44. KerinTX on June 12th, 2005 11:20 pm

a 6 ft 3 in guy having sex in the backseat of a small car. Doesn’t add up.

      rafa-
I am going to bed soon.
I just got a computer a few weeks ago and this is the first chat site I came to when I saw the news…just lucky sometimes I guess. Good to meet you.
      Thanks for the info.
      Goodnite all God bless.

    46. arubagirl on June 12th, 2005 11:21 pm

      Good point, Kerin.

    47. K in TX on June 12th, 2005 11:21 pm

Tila, what I”m saying is, that…if you are normally NOT a girl that goes out and sleeps around, chances are that no matter HOW drunk you are, you’re not going to settle for sex in the back seat of a Honda.

And I still stand by my theory that I think she was drugged. And if she was, then perhaps she DID have sex in the back seat of that car, but that doesn’t mean she WANTED it.

    48. DT on June 12th, 2005 11:21 pm

Exactly it was either making out or it was some sort of gang rape, no way they would have just sat their and listened to it and turned away.

    49. Sarah on June 12th, 2005 11:21 pm

Do the seats lay down? If there is no physical evidence, who says they had sex in the car. Why not outside?

    50. Tila_Bean on June 12th, 2005 11:22 pm

Arubagirl, I believe Fox News said that it was Joran’s family car.

    51. NativeLingo on June 12th, 2005 11:22 pm

Depends what kind of sex Kerin….Oh the possibilities…..

    52. GAGUY on June 12th, 2005 11:22 pm

kerin.. you can have sex in different positions… it is very possible.. use your imagination and im sure you can come up with a few..

    53. DT on June 12th, 2005 11:23 pm

Reportedly they didn’t leave their car at the lighthouse. And according to all reports I’ve heard it was just kissing/touching no sex.

    54. KerinTX on June 12th, 2005 11:23 pm

Arubagirl…on Geraldo’s show he said the car was impounded from Joran’s house and then they showed it being towed away (a small silver car)

    55. Sarah on June 12th, 2005 11:23 pm

Can you get in the lighthouse?

    56. DT on June 12th, 2005 11:23 pm

      I don’t think so

    57. IDontKnowNuttinAndKnowMoreThanYou! on June 12th, 2005 11:23 pm

The amigos said “she didn’t get out of the car”.

    58. Tanya on June 12th, 2005 11:23 pm

They must have scratches or brusies. She would have known what was happened if they were trying to get her out of the car for sex with three. You lose your inhibitions with the person you want to be with but not your mind when there are three in the picture

    59. concerned on June 12th, 2005 11:23 pm

It’s been my understanding that it was Joran’s car…or at least that the vehicle was picked up from his residence…I don’t know who owns the vehicle.

I do find it interesting that the brothers’ parents own a rental car company.

    60. bruno on June 12th, 2005 11:24 pm

Right, esp. “those” kind of people, they would have jumped in first chance they had to get a piece of that beautiful blonde. All three raped her.

    61. K in TX on June 12th, 2005 11:24 pm

The problem with the scratches or bruises is, that they weren’t in custody for like 10 days. THose scratches could be long gone by then.

    62. KerinTX on June 12th, 2005 11:25 pm

GAGuy…being my age I not only have to use my imagination but I have already actually been in those positions. :-)

Still….this is a BIG guy and a small backseat.

    63. Sarah on June 12th, 2005 11:25 pm

Can you imagine the parents reaction if they reported they had sex with her? If her friends reported this being so out of character for Natalee, then all would assume that it was rape. Of course the boys are going to report that they were kissing and a little more. There is nothing illegal about that.

    64. arubagirl on June 12th, 2005 11:25 pm

      OH okay. Tila.

Guys, I have to work tomorrow (joy).

Native, it’s been a pleasure haning with you.

      Bye guys.

    67. WoodGuy on June 12th, 2005 11:26 pm

Crazy thought here…….have all of Nat’s classmates been cleared of any involvement? I mean any old boyfriends or guys that wanted to be her boyfriend see her flirting and kissing with these local boys sends them into a rage……I belive the 3 locals are guilty but if you were investigating this, you’d have to look at that angle too

    68. GAGUY on June 12th, 2005 11:26 pm

bruno…. ” a piece of that beautiful blonde” I think you can muster up just a little bit more respect for the girl.. considering the situation..

Tanya, if the date-rape drug was GBH, you lose your ability to put up a fight. It’s like you are sleep-walking. Then you wake up the next day.

Joran was too young to drive but it was his parent’s car. So maybe the brothers were in the front seat as they left CnC.

    71. bruno on June 12th, 2005 11:27 pm

i’m stating that from their likely perspective

    72. KerinTX on June 12th, 2005 11:27 pm

    73. iquitos on June 12th, 2005 11:27 pm

Somewhere it was reported that the car belongs to the Surinamer (Arubans please confirm) (older one). there are all kinds of drugs used to knock people out to have ones way with them. Have seen guys out for three days on horse tranquilizers in Venezuela (businessman hooked up for a threesome and wakes up in a ditch 100 miles away two days later). In Colomcia they have one so powerful they just blow it in your face and you are putty in their hands.

I love the Joran is way too young to drive comment. He’s too young to drive but can frequent bars and casinos on a regular basis. If you go to those places, then wouldn’t you think that driving is ok too?

    77. K in TX on June 12th, 2005 11:28 pm

OK, but was it really Joran’s parent’s car? It was kind of pimped out.

Dallas Also…you live around here…you must see those types of Hondas….with the pimped out back lights? I would laugh if his parents pimped their ride like that!

    78. Tanya on June 12th, 2005 11:28 pm

Woodguy 5 days don’t make you a island expert. The body would have been found. If it was done by a unknown person they would not care if body was found.

    79. DT on June 12th, 2005 11:29 pm

I don’t think the media is caring about the parents at this point if friday/saturday is any indication. The reports of kissing and touching come from a lawyer not the media themselves. LIke i said before there has been no media report of sex, only kissing /touching. As I said before one fox reporter went so far as to correct sean hannity regarding the rumor that it was sex and clarified that it was only kissing. If they did have sex with her they would certainly want to admit it in case any semen is found on the body (assuming it can be found). I still think the reports say some sort of making out unless I can see evidence to the contrary.

    80. GAGUY on June 12th, 2005 11:29 pm

kerin,, nobody is judging your lack of sexual experience… Im quite sure you have alot..

    83. Compananzi on June 12th, 2005 11:30 pm

Its Joran’s Car, and even tho he is only 17 he is 6.3 so naturally he is probably the leader of this pack. I do agree I would not have anyone drive my car either..so that is mighty strange. As on of the commentary is going, I hope this influential judge official is not coaching his sons and friends. Police in Aruba do seem to stall questioning a 17 yr old or a 18, yr old…that means they are incompetent, to extract a confession or the boys father has coached them to a certain degree.

    84. iquitos on June 12th, 2005 11:30 pm

A curacao rumor has it Joran showed up at school the next day wiuth scratches on his face.

    85. Sarah on June 12th, 2005 11:31 pm

These boys are admitting guilt to nothing illegal. Until a body is found, they won’t be talking. It will be like hanging themselves when they confess.

    86. SoInSo on June 12th, 2005 11:31 pm

Most sober person likely driving that night

    87. Dallas Also on June 12th, 2005 11:32 pm

I hadn’t seen a picture of the car, I didn’t know that it had been customized. I ony had heard that 18 was the minimum age for a driver’s license. But yes, he also was in CnC and minimum drinking age is 18 as well.

    88. bruno on June 12th, 2005 11:32 pm

He might be 6.3, but I’d drop him like a sack of potatos if I ever saw his guilty smirk.
      :-)

    89. K in TX on June 12th, 2005 11:32 pm

Sober person driving…that brings up something I’ve been meaning to ask. Are there laws against drunken driving in Aruba? It’s kind of off-topic, but I was wondering that myself. Good point, SoinSO.

    90. Compananzi on June 12th, 2005 11:32 pm

Iquitos, remember Curacao is a sister island of Aruba, to my knowledge Joran never left the island of aruba?

    91. NativeLingo on June 12th, 2005 11:32 pm

inquitos, I heard the same “rumor”..

    92. KerinTX on June 12th, 2005 11:32 pm

This is another reason why them not doing more tests on whatever the stains are in the car doesn’t make sense. I think they need to see if the stains are semen and, if so, is it from all 3, only Joran? I would think if there was evidence from all 3 then it would cast even more light on what happened.

    93. K in TX on June 12th, 2005 11:33 pm

LMAO, Dallas! “Customized”. I couldn’t remember the term, but that’s exactly what it is! Customized = pimped out!

You must be younger than me! I feel totally old now! ;)

    94. DT on June 12th, 2005 11:34 pm

Someone said the same thing on Geraldo tonight Kerin. If it is semen that would conflict with earlier reports that they were just kissing. And it would be especially bad if it was from one of the brothers.

    95. KerinTX on June 12th, 2005 11:34 pm

K…actually if you saw my son you would laugh at us calling him a pimp. 6 ft 4 and 125 lbs…LOL

    96. Dallas Also on June 12th, 2005 11:34 pm

Today’s lack of information doesn’t mean that it wasn’t an active day. It means that there will be no more leaking to the press.

All right. GOOD NIGHT everybody…Bon Nochi y tur cos bon. I apologize for my unsollicited, irreverent, but somewhat iconoclastic style stream of conscious humor. I was merely intimating in a metaphorical sense that my posts along with everybody else’s is just mere speculation and conjecture. I hope from the bottom of my heart that this nightmare comes to some positive ending.

    98. Tila_Bean on June 12th, 2005 11:35 pm

k in tx, you would be surprised what so called “good girls” are capable of. i graduated with a 4.0, graduated from a prestigious college, was considered a good girl by friends and family and i did a lot of things that would be classified as “bad”. i’m not blaming her at all and i’m not going to beat a dead horse either so i’m going to stop here. i also believe natalee was drugged and the alcohol and drugs contributed to her death. not sure if it was accidental or not though.

    99. WoodGuy on June 12th, 2005 11:35 pm

I guess if Van Der Sleaze is too young to drive he must pull up to the casinos and bars on his Batman Big Wheel……!!! That’s why he’s such a ladies man. Punk

    100. concerned on June 12th, 2005 11:35 pm

If that was Joran’s parents’ vehicle and they allow him to drive it out–to a bar at 2 a.m.–then why do you think anyone else would drive it home? It’s not like his parents give a damn…think about it…they let their underage son take the car out to a bar late at night…It’s not like he has something to hide from them…they are obviously willing to allow him to take that risk if they let him take it.

If that is his parent’s vehicle (and not one of the brother’s cars), I think that provides all the insight we need for the problem with his parents and shines a lot of light on his behavior…1. They provide a means for him to break the law; 2. They don’t seem to fear the consequences of the risks associated with allowing him to break the law…makes you wonder if the laws are different for him due to his father’s position

Did you see the comment aruba being such a small and inbred place that if one passes gas at the lighthouse it is discussed in town within minutes. I think the same applies to the rumor mill from Aruba to Curacao. I heard it here in the US through the Surinam grapevine. there are close relationships between them all.

At this point Joran’s being a minor and getting all the access to Casino, Driving and drinking, and leader of a 18, 21 year old brothers already tell you something. He appears to have had some anger management issues, and the night of the kidnapping/murder he was involved in a shoving or shouting match with Natalees friends…at CnC can someone confirm this? Also I wonder if he was doing roids…that usually make one short tempered and agressive. I dread the the real possibility if Natalee was brutally hurt, she seem so petite and frail.

The report of them having sex comes fro a translation of the 3 brothers statement in Dutch. They used the word ‘vrijen’ which can mean everything from making out to having sex.

I wonder if you can clean semen or blood from a car. The brothers family has a rental car place and probably has access to all kinds of things that can make a car squeeky clean in 10 days or less.

    114. KerinTX on June 12th, 2005 11:40 pm

Natalee stepfather said that he found Joran being a cocky person. I guess if you had a dad that lets you get away with alot you become such a person. Joran previous violent tendencies have been to push someone thru a glass plate… I think this guy is a real psycho in the making, I read that he was in the process of applying to a school in Tampa, ST. Mordred I think the word vrijren came from a dutch newspaper that was translated on RiehlWorldView not from the actual statements. The lawyer for one of the guard who had the statements said it was “kissing and a little more” which is consistent with the AP”s latest “kissing and fondling” not her having sex.

      1. Carlos and Charlies.
      2. Musicians, apparently an Arubian Dance Troupe went on the Rhapsody of the Seas, and met with Amy, and wanted her to go to CnC…she did not but somehow enroute to Curacao Disappeard.
      3. On May 31 there was a Sun Beach Festival, and according to the lying Suriname brothers they describe a security guard, whose black tshirt mathes the Sun Beach Festival. If this is true would hate to see these 3 get off..but dunno

That;s been happening to Amy’s family for years, Tila. I have stayed up to date on her story for years. It is being handled (if you want to say anyone is handling) by Aruba’s sister island of Curacao and they have not done a thing to help the Bradley family in their search. These poor people have depleted all resources to find her and it looks like a very good possibility that she is in a brothel (possibly in Venezuela)

Rudy Croes was the person who gave the initial news that the Natalee was dead and one of the suspect confessed but then later he said it he was himself a victim of misinformation…by whom? Also he looks remarkably like the brother of Betico Croes the politician that lead Aruba to a status aparte from the Nederlands Antilles. (he died by the way)

    167. KerinTX on June 12th, 2005 11:56 pm

the tie between Amy and Natalee in relation to Aruba is none really. Amy’s cruise ship left Aruba and she was still onboard but disappeared before docking at the next port

These boys will likely break if they are cut off from family for a while and left alone….no questioning. They are not the type to want to be locked down. It will detroy their confidence

    172. Compananzi on June 12th, 2005 11:57 pm

I think if Amy has been abducted the only way to get her back it to kidnap her back. Since the brothels are known, fake johns would be sent in, and located the missing person. Then with a firm escape route planned prior, hit the place, and rescue the girl….I m am very surprised the FBI or CIA has not done so already..I m thinking why the hell do we have homeland security..

    173. Dallas Also on June 12th, 2005 11:57 pm

Enola, as long as you’ve got people in custody, the case has hope. It is pretty good to assume that the three guys didn’t drop her off as they said. The plan now is to get the truth from them.

    174. BamaBabe on June 12th, 2005 11:57 pm

Unfortunately Amys family probably did not know anyone with connections powerful enough to get the FBI involved.

I dont think thats its impossible that the two cases could be related, but Im beginning to think that theyre not.

I wonder if there are other girls out there that are missing from the States who are still alive and being held slave? Probably so. Scares me to death.

missing girls happen in all countries. Aruba is no different from Canada, USA, Jamaica etc. Crime happens allover.

    180. KerinTX on June 12th, 2005 11:59 pm

the tie that some are trying to make in the 2 cases is that crew members onboard wanted to take Amy to C&C while they were docked in Aruba but she didn’t go. Then a band member came up to Amy’s mom at sea and began asking, what she thought, were strange questions regarding Amy. That night/early morning, Amy partied and was last seen in her cabin at about 5:30am and by 6 am she had disappeared off the ship

BamaBabe, you’re right, that marine totally blew it. Amy Bradley went missing in 1998 and that marine saw her in 1999. But at least that incident let the family know that Amy was alive, which I’m sure was an unresolved question in their minds.

    184. KerinTX on June 13th, 2005 12:02 am

    186. Compananzi on June 13th, 2005 12:02 am

To me Rudy Croes comes off as being very sincere. But I am thinking why the misinformation, I know the blame was place on AP news and CNN..but what and who said it first. And if wrong why was it wrong, and by whom..there must have been reason for such deception..who gained what from it…was it a way to stop the hounding press? To give them a black eye and not probe so deep? And if so the powers to be would in turn make one of their own take a tumble….

      Aruba Update: Site Excavated Today
According to reports from Aruba authorities were called out to a site today as a result of a report by concerned Arubans who continue to search for Natalee Holloway on their own.

The site was located near the Lighthouse and appeared to be a make shift grave marked with objects from the surrounding area. Excavation of the site yielded no signs of anything material to the Natalee Holloway investigation.

Locals were especially concerned as there were signs that the makeshift grave showed distinctive signs of organic decomposition. Reportedly, a dog and possibly another unidentified animal were uncovered. It has not been confirmed that this was linked to the bloody mattress found earlier in the investigation which was determined to be covered with canine blood. Additionally, that mattress was discovered on the other side of the tiny island.

Again, without any evidence presented, without any trial, I’ve just read posts advocating the rape and murder of a 17 year old boy whose only crime thus far is being in the wrong place at the wrong time. You people are sick.

For all you people know Natalie went to the boys and begged them to help her so she didn’t have to return home because she could not bear being abused anymore…she swore them to silence and the FBI and the local LE are investigating.

At this point that story is as likely as any other, why not wait for evidence before hoping a boy is raped in prison or volunteering to kill him if he comes to the U.S.

And NAVY man, I think 20 years of service in an U.S. gov. intelligence agency would suffice as plenty of experience, don’t you? Also, European teens are given far more freedom as kids versus the oppressive environment most American kids are raised in, which merely fosters the crap we see on spring break TV…they finally get out of their parent’s homes and they don’t know how to act. Euro teens travel on their own and in groups and it’s not uncommon to see groups of them heading out to ski (GASP) unchaperoned on trains. They learn about alcohol (as my own kids did) by drinking wine and champagne at home with their families instead of thinking the great forbidden secret, the great no no means that as soon as mama’s back is turned they have to have a kegger at the local frat house. BTW it is not against the law in the United States for parents to give their own children alcohol. I ordered wine for my daughters when we were out together all the time. Better a fine glass of wine than puking drunk on the frat house lawn.

The misinformation comment almost seems like a ploy. If I did not know better with all that is going on behind the scenes and with the FBI present in Aruba w/o diving, that there is more to all of this.

It is hard for me to imagine that 3 teens could commit this type of crime and get away with it. Professional yes, teens no. There usually is always a mistake done by people who commit such crimes.

If I did not know better and this is my “reading way too many crime novels” that there just may be more to this and maybe some conspiracy theories are correct. All these FBI guys down there. Are they in Aruba or in other surrounding countries and islands looking for her? Who knows. Its just hard to believe that 3 teens could withstand FBI interrogation.

      1. apparently they dug a whole bunch up around the lighthouse and have nothing to report
      2. they report that the blood stain was not a blood stain and they say that if it is just sweat, and it has Natalee’s DNA, that this tells them nothing knew, since they know Natalee was in the car.
      3. the Prime Minister held a press conference, only invited the local press, spoke in ppmiento not English, and basically said nothing except that they are working as hard as they can to solve the case.

I think they are trying to crack the three guys and I think they are waiting on test results. There is nothing to say that Natalee is dead and not just being held.

The only reason I had given weight to the info was the fact that in Aruba, things are clumsy, and sucha information released early would fit that scenario. On the face of it would be pretty normal, with hundreds of homicide that would be the pattern…The idea of a smuggling sex trade ring does sound farfatched but because we want to find Natalee and want to see her alive is so hopeful to think the later scenario is possible.

GP, Joran’s friends have said the same things about him.

You don’t know what happened behind closed doors at natalie’s home anymore than you know what happened that night in Aruba. Again, why not wait for EVIDENCE before you convict someone of a crime? Those five people are not charged with anything, they’re merely being held and questioned as the law allows. If those people were in the United States they would be free walking the streets right now, did you know that? Without evidence and charging, you cannot hold someone more than 48 hours. Perhaps people screaming for extradition to the U.S. would be better served to remember that. As far as the public knows, there is not a shred of evidence against these boys. Just a powerful rich American family using their political clout to get the FBI involved. Bet Condi Rice would not have answered her phone for Jane Doe.

All the screaming that Joran’s family must be so powerful they’re instigating a cover up is silly. The whole world is watching Aruba right now and his family hardly seems wealthy and most certainly not as wealthy and powerful as Natalie’s family.

GPTMD, as far as I’m concerned you don’t have to defend anyone. Anyone who is here to place blame on Natalee, her family, or the adults on the trip can be ignored. Natalee’s reputation good or bad (which from what I understand is quite good), has nothing to do with what happened to her. Her parents’ money or lack thereof has nothing to do with this. The poor people of Aruba who are taking a beating have nothing to do with this. So please understand that you don’t have to defend anyone. You can just chat with us if you want. Therefore, as we stand here right now, there is no evidence that we know of and certainly nothing that would warrant them being held for an uncertain amount of time without being charged. In the U.S. based on the evidence as we know it, they’d be walking the street.

The friends of both Natalie and Joran say they’re both really great people. Clearly both of them are/were a little wild. So, which is it. We have 5 men being held, none of them being charged and as far as we know no physical evidence.

Open forum – free speech, that’s why we’re here – I’m here – to discuss things, and try to understand, while we wait. And wait. And wait. There’s always 1 or 2

The only thing the FBI is likely to learn here is what they already know, people are vicious and quick to judge and offer violence and assault when they aren’t getting what they believe they are due. Our media feeds us, they can’t feed us now, different country different rules, so they make it up and the starving jump on it as truth.

On one hand the people accuse Joran’s family of using political clout to protect and shield him (even though he and four other people are in jail without being charged, something that would NOT happen and is in fact AGAINST THE LAW in the United States) and on the other hand people think it’s perfectly ok for Natalie’s family to use political clout to get the FBI called in when normally they’d never bother. Which is it folks?

This constant reference to the Holiday Inn Security camera being broken is worrisome to me. What does HI gain from leaking this? Does a broken camera and no guard on the front gate make them look good? Were HI people involved? Did they erase the tape? The lawyers for the Security Guards have said if there is no proof the boys and Natalee ever came back to the hotel how can they place the security guards at the scene?

    328. KerinTX on June 13th, 2005 12:39 am

I would have to disagree with that. I have not heard any of Natalee’s friends say she was anything but a kind and upstanding member of her community. On the other hand, some say Joran was a gifted athlete and honors student and others say he has an anger problem and recently threw a classmate through a glass window. Also, he is well-known to be a regular at a bar where he is too young to be at…he is driving illegally. He has a webpage professing to be a “pimp” and looking for a physical relationship.

Hi All, been following thkis weebsite and all the posts for the past 4 days. Lot of intersting “opinions,” and some not-so-nice personal attacks. Bt beyond that, I want to let you all k now that this incident has hit the heart of America, even to the “lowest” element, figuratively speaking.
I was at a biker hang-out yesterday with a lot of friends, and this issue was being discussed by all the gangs; the Hells Angels, Mongols, Vogols, and Hessians. And I must say, maybe NH’s parents would be better off enlisting the help of the Hells Angels to find their daughter than either the FBI or the local Aruban gov. In a matter of days, there would be more HA’s on that island than there are residents, and these guys would have NO PROBLEM burning the place to the ground to find answers. The three amigos would have either spilled their beans already or died horrifically painful deaths, as would the whole Van der Sloot family, since their suspicions are keen on this local boy. I was surprised about how well versed they are all, and I believe they know what happened, and where to start – and how to finish. And they certainly would have no place for Rivera – they’d take him out first!

    332. Dallas Also on June 13th, 2005 12:40 am

Lets face it a normal young 17, 18 yr old will not hold long under skilled experienced competent police interogation….Frankly we have not seen any of this so far.

I know one thing is for sure, if I was on the Arubian police force I would be working my butt off with this type of case, and soaking up any information from the FBI. I know it sounds bad, but as a police officer, working on this case would sure beat having to break up bar fights and stupid tourist domestic problems.

I think the post above about the lady in the gas station and her report that Natalie’s parent’s acted “odd” when they viewed the tape is also of great interest.

None of us knows what happened or what is going on behind closed doors. No one has the right to pre-judge anyone. Our country has gone to hell in a handbasket with the instant justice metted out by the media and no one seems to have noticed it. Well trust me, you’d notice it all right if you were sitting in a jail cell watching Nasty Grace convict you of a crime you know you didn’t do and now don’t have a prayer of getting a fair trial because idiots sitting at home watching and hanging on every word Geraldo and Nasty say believe them.

I’m not so sure that these kids will break soon.

First, they were questioned and then released to their parents – and Joran’s father is a substitute judge. They then had DAYS AND DAYS to rehearse answers to questions, make sure the three had their stories straight.

Natalee’s mother and stepfather said that Joran was hard, arrogant and unfriendly and unhelpful when they met with him – at their request. This is what you’d expect from a parent/lawyer who told the kid to stick to and repeat ONLY the story they’ve concocted.

I’m sorry we all have such a bad image, but we are brothers, and in this case, one of our dearly beloved “sisters” or daughters have been violated, and we want results!

      Fact:
Natalee was last seen leaving C&C in a car with Joran and 2 other boys.
      Fact:
      Natalee is now missing

      Anything else…is just hearsay, correct?

___says..how do YOU know what the official statment is since nothing has officially been released?

You’re a young girl returned from a wild time in a different land. I’m sorry your friend is missing, but let’s be honest, many people stated natalie had been drinking but did not appear to be “out of it” so she willingly got in the car with those boys and none of her friends grabbed her and pulled her back. Now, what would posess a nice good girl to drink and get in a car with three men she didn’t know? You can’t white wash it, it is what it is.

Other than that you all do not know anything “official.” What time does the hotel pool close anyway? I guess they have different closing times in Aruba because in the U.S. most hotel pools close between 10 and 11 p.m.

    386. Rick on June 13th, 2005 12:53 am

      K –

His father is said to be the equivalent of a substitute judge, or “judge in training” – likely earning about 70K US, which apparently is a lot in Aruba…

It’s likely he’s good friends with most, if not all, the judiciary given how small the island is.

I found the revelation that Joran pushed a kid through a plate glass window to be very interesting… Add that to the shoving match between him and Natalee’s classmates, the stories he is a bully at school, and the news from DIARIO that he was undergoing Anger Management treatment, and you get the picture of a guy who certainly could have strangled a woman who refused his advances…

    387. DT on June 13th, 2005 12:53 am

The drinks in Carlos and Charlies are strong, so it would not be far fetched that Joran and his 2 buds Kalpoes might have slipped some drugs to Natalee..that would explain why Joran was in the back seat in his OWN car. You see if you done it before you expect a action and reaction consequence. I d say the boys knew the effect would take place and planned according.

    436. Rick on June 13th, 2005 1:04 am

The stuff on his MSN and Tickle sites contained many of the photos you’ve already seen, and others that haven’t been widely publicized, including one of him with a leather belt wrapped around another smaller shirtless kid’s neck. The kid looked to be in pain and Joran had an idiotic grin on his face. Shades of Robert Chambers with that photo….

Other photos were of him drinking, flashing make-believe gang signs, posing with various women, and one posed flashing a fan of US dollars… He listed three different songs as favorites, all misogynistic rap songs, like “Candy Shop” about a woman giving oral sex to the narrator as he degrades her, and he said his hobby was hooking up or words similar to that.

RiehlWorld reports that someone they believe was Joran contacted them and asked that they remove a photo of him from the website… They pinged his IP address and it was an Aruban provider, so likely it was Joran…

So, in the days between the first and second arrests, Joran was focused on his image, and I’m 100% sure his father, Joran’s lawyer and the attorneys for the two friends got ALL their ducks in a row and coached and coached and coached the boys on what to say and what not to say…

This is what “we” think; NH befriended these assholes on the American principle of trust. Naive, yes, but at 18 you don’t have the worldly experience you would have if not raised on the street. These a-holes did in fact drug her drink, played off as trustworthy friends, took her out that night b/c she hadn’t seen the light-house yet (read through another story), and at least the dutch creep tried to have his way with her.

We believe in NH’s good moral character, and that she, even in her state, declined the advances to sloot. He, known for his temper problems and leaning on his family’s status, blew his cool and choked her to death as he forced his way with her.

We believe there is a conspiracy of cover-up, as tourism is the highest income provided Aruba. We also believe that the Aruban gov is shocked beyond their own comprehension, shocked that America is making so much of this case while letting past cases go cold, and they don’t know what to do.

They need help, but the media isn’t providing anything more tghan keeping the issue in the spotlight. Something’s got to break, and break soon, or the tourist industry will suffer badly. As of right now, i don’t think anybody will hang this on the Aruban public or island in general, b/c let’s be honest in regards to statistics, Aruba IS and HAS PROVEN to be, the least corrupt and most safe tourist destination in all the of the Carribean.

    458. JayFreddy on June 13th, 2005 1:10 am

They had their chance to crack Joran when they first had him in custody… they blew that and let him go home to a father who knows the Aruban justice system intimately, and certainly coached Joran from top to bottom, inside and out – as well as the 2 friends and their attorneys. You can be sure they’re sticking to one story and not diverging, having been told if any of them do, it’ll mean at least 15 years in prison, and if they all stick to it, they walk.
