Abu Shahid, Top Iraqi Al Qaeda Leader Arrested in Iraq

Here is some good news from Iraq. The US military is reporting that Khaled Abdul-Fattah Dawoud Mahmoud al-Mashhadani, also known as Abu Shahid has been arrested.

The U.S. command said Wednesday the highest-ranking Iraqi in the leadership of Al Qaeda in Iraq has been arrested, adding that information from him indicates the group’s foreign-based leadership wields considerable influence over the Iraqi chapter.

Khaled Abdul-Fattah Dawoud Mahmoud al-Mashhadani, also known as Abu Shahid, was captured in Mosul on July 4, said Brig. Gen. Kevin Bergner, a military spokesman.

“Al-Mashhadani is believed to be the most senior Iraqi in the Al Qaeda in Iraq network,” Bergner said. He said al-Mashhadani was a close associate of Abu Ayub al-Masri, the Egyptian-born head of Al Qaeda in Iraq. (Fox)

Go USA! I certainly hope that this news is encouraging to our troops since 99% of what comes out of our “leaders” is demoralizing.

Great job, but why TELL us!!! Why not torture information out of him then shoot him, without telling the world he was ever captured. It’s time we take off the “gloves” and start fighting to win this war…we have the power, the strength, why don’t we use it??

First of all, the press does NOT belong there, our soldiers have to have the added job of protecting, then trying rescue them when they get captured! But worst of all, they are over there, giving out, and televising info that the enemy sees. This is NOT a REALITY SHOW !!!! This is WAR!! A war being fought to protect us from Al Queada(sp?) and the crazy Muslims who are Hell bent on destroying everything and everybody NOT MUSLIM, kidnapping, torturing, and car-bombing our boys to death…..all unnecessarilly…we can knock them on their rotten Arab asses,…..Stop fighting the politically correct way…..It Ain’t Workin ..and too many of our young men and women are giving their lives…..bring out the BIG GUNS….Untie our Armed Forces hands and let them fight to win……We are looking like weak, fools, and the demented Arabs are getting stronger and stronger….Knock it off…. and KNOCK the BLOCKS OFF!!!

      #3 Lorraine,

      Right on
War that is not fought to be won is not war, it becomes a business with a balance sheet for profiteers.

Fight to win and that is how we support our troops!

By the way, Lorraine, most Arabs who are Muslim ARE NOT fanatical. Our president knows this and so should you.
