New Orleans Travel Show … Natalee Holloway Aruban Protest … Justice for Natalee Holloway Part II

The Justice for Natalee Holloway faithful are back with more to report from New Orleans. Kudos to those who went in support of Natalee Holloway, her family and to remind others, don’t forget … do not ever forget.

Greetings from Louisiana! You wanted pictures, so I took more today

This is the Hilton, where the tourism meetings are being held. This picture is taken at a strange angle to fit in the garage (front) and the tower behind it. The tower is where the tourism meetings are being held. (Hat Tip: Karo)

NO_Boycott_2hilton

Moving around to the left is the Poydras Trolley Station, next to the Hilton’s tower. I drew an arrow in red above the station. This is where we tried to put a banner yesterday and Hilton security would not permit it. It would have been the perfect spot for a banner…

NO_protest_2TrolleyStation2

But we had a banner behind this white gate, which is the entrance to the River Walk Market Place, so that people crossing the tracks between 2 parts of the Hilton with rooms for guests, and people riding the Trolley could see it. The trolley in this picture is heading away—and just has passed the gate.

A man from security for the River Walk Market Place approached us about 3:30 this afternoon and made us take down the 2 large banners we had on this gate. It is not considered public property. At least we got to keep it there for 2 days. Many people were stopping to read these banners. Two people today even were taking pictures of them. One was a young woman who asked many questions about the case and seemed very interested.

This is a picture of the whole gate, standing back further from it. In front of it one of our signs is visible, on the crosswalk which many convention attendees were using. “Aruba- Find the Truth. Where is Natalee?”

The gang will be back later with more from New Orleans Travel Show boycott of Aruba, “Justice for Natalee” … to be continued.

Contrast this event with the horror of the Glasgow and London terrorist incidents (thankfully, no loss of decent lives … as for the terrorists in Glasgow, can’t hang them soon enough for me). To wax Biblical for a moment, out of the darkness that hangs over Aruba comes the light from New Orleans, where people are being reminded that evil happens daily … but that WE ARE NOT HELPLESS in the face of evil.

“For the light shineth in darkness, and the darkness comprehendeth it not.”

Something like that is found somewhere in the Bible. And we’re seeing it proved to be true in New Orleans.

It appears the NO protesters are getting more resistance from the authorities, etc. than any other place so far :-( I can’t believe people were actually rude when offered the brochures. Things have changed so much over the years, especially when it comes to people really caring about others.

As far as justice ever being served for Natalee (and/or other “VICTIMS” and their families), I’ve often said for years there’s no such thing as “JUSTICE”, not here on this earth anyway.

      BOYCOTT ARUBA AND HOLLAND!!

      JUSTICE FOR NATALEE :-)

Don’t take the “rudeness” personally. Many of the people may just be reacting in general to people that are on the streets always trying to hand you stuff. I usually object to this too.

Next, remember, you can lead a horse to water but you can’t make ‘em drink. If Americans still really want to go to Aruba after having been warned – great, it’s their free choice. You are going above and beyond and call of duty to warn them. And yes, the world unfortunately is full of people that just don’t care about anything or anyone but themselves.

A huge thank you to all who are taking part in the New Orlean’s protest. Thank you for being a voice for a voice that has been silenced. Natalee Holloway is an American citizen … an American citizen who has been denied justice by a corrupt Aruban agenda … an agenda established to distance their own from implication. Thank you for not only “talking the talk but walking the walk.”

      Hi guys,

I wish there would be more info about the Natalee Holloway case in Europe. I myself learned about it watching the doctor Phil show after which I have myself followed the case on the Internet.

Right now Aruba is performing a huge marketing campaign in Europe to attract new customers. Because the US dollar is cheap for europeans now a lot of peope want to travel to the caribbean. Aruba have sponsored travel tv-shows, given away free trips to several journaists etc and on Sweden where I live people in general have never heard about NH. Me and my husband spend a lot of time in the caribbean (NOT Aruba), and my imae is that the case have hardly been mentioned in the caribbean press either.

      Bravo,

To contrast the singular event with the horrific response of the US govt in preparing and afterwards aiding New Orleans its no wonder that we are so cynical. Please take time to consider how many years after Katrina and what the state is for this city. You seek justice, but remedy your own backyard as well. If anyone thinks that all is well and fine in Nawlins, you need to wake up.

Bad will prosper when good people do nothing to stop it. That’s the reason for promoting a boycott of Aruba as I see it. Thanks to all who try to make a positive difference in our world!

And I know some may have a problem understanding why boycott aruba when only a few did something bad….well, here’s the thing those people are missing…it’s called ‘the point’…and the point is that if you happen to live somewhere where some a*shole has caused your lifestyle a problem then you go back to that person who caused it and make them fix it. That is your responsibility to your OWN lifestyle. And Joran was the first one to set this mess in motion so he is the base one to blame for any negative reactions toward Aruba.

Joran VDS caused the problem initially when he lured a tourist off under false pretenses….those false pretenses being that he lied about who he was and where he lived and his age too so his underage gambling and drinking would not make him look like a law breaking juvie which would no doubt have thrown up a red flag to Natalee….and lying about who he was and where he was from is also a way of ‘gaining trust’ that probably wouldn’t have been given him had Natalee or her friends known he was a local. And Joran knew that or else he’d not have thought to lie about it. His intention to deceive makes him a predator….a ‘resident of Aruba’ predator.

In fact, Joran caused this problem for Aruba when he interfered in the plans of a graduating class who came to Aruba to celebrate and then go home with fond memories. He thrust himself into this innocent group of teenagers DECEITFULLY for self serving purposes. Again…predator on the lose; a ‘resident of Aruba’ predator on the lose. And his obvious predator status had never been acknowledged by Arubans except Jossy.

When the authorities of Aruba finally admit they have a situation where their locals are causing mistrust of the island- instead of blaming it all on tourists, the family of tourists and the media -then the untrustworthy and potentially dangerous situation caused by predators like Joran being allowed to roam freely could be taken under control to where people might feel more safe there. So that has to happen, and outwardly, so the public knows for certain Aruba is interested in providing a safe place for tourists to vacation.
Right now all we hear is whining from those authorities that Aruba is safe! We know of at least one case where it was not safe. They really need to own up and say one of their own caused all this mess. Joran VDS. But they have yet to even spank that boy! But they have added insult to injury by insulting Natalee’s reputation without proof many times! That’s nothing less than justification for the ‘norm’ of the island that ‘tourists cause their own problems’ which in turn opens the door for escalation of more bad things because it’s so easy to get away with blaming tourists.

It’s like this….even IF Natalee had voluntarily gone off with Joran, she would not have had that opportunity if Joran had not been on the prowl deceitfully. It all boils down to Joran being a predator and it ends with authorities not wanting to own up to what one of their own caused the island. (from there, of course, comes all the rest of the coverup etc). But Joran is at fault for all of this! Joran Van der Sloot. And while he and many others don’t want any backlash for what Joran did, that’s too bad. Bad will prosper when good people wimp out and let the bad people do whatever they want to do.

The boycott agenda is good in that it at least lets innocent travelers become aware of dangers they might face if they should choose to go to Aruba. Certainly, Aruba is not going to advertise such. And it will make it less easy for predators like Joran to abuse the very people they depend upon for a living….that being the tourists. If it only makes the predators nervous, it is well worth it.

So to those who object to the boycott agenda….tell it to Joran because none of this would be happening if he had not been a predator of tourists. Don’t let all that has happened in between confuse you. This is all Joran’s fault! Even the authorities would have had nothing to cover up had it not been for Joran and his predatory games. Joran has cost the taxpayers of Aruba a whole lot of money…..now….who did the authorities blame for having to spend all that money…..they blamed Natalee and her family! They whined about it saying, ‘look what we did for YOU’….and they miss the point entirely….they should have been thinking along the lines of having had to spend that money because one of their own was a predator of tourists and they had to spend the money trying to fix it for the tourist, thus being very very angry at Joran.

Ok enough rambling….bottom line, if the authorities in Aruba will not blame their own at all when it’s so obvious they should, and instead will blame the tourists, what is next once they get away with that? Will the locals then start to complain/lie that tourists stole things from them or something? Or a tourist hit them in the face unprompted? Will tourists get locked up in Aruban jails under that ridiculous detainment system they have? Might be far fetched, but the point is that if it is always the fault of tourists, no tourist is safe there for any number of imaginable reasons. Aruba has not shown yet that they can do any wrong. That ‘norm’ is something the unsuspecting traveling public should be aware of. It’s a service to humanity to alert them, and proposing a boycott is a strong alert. In the view of Aruban authority, they are great and good, and tourists cause them trouble especially those teenagers who come there to drink. They are so insincere in even that remark…if they know they have a problem with teenagers from other countries coming there to get soused, RAISE THE AGE LIMIT. It’s all about the money….and that’s ok if you’re a tourist economy but if they can’t also show they have a sense of honesty and fair play toward humanity that is not spending money there, then you basically suck and should be avoided like the plague. Like the saying goes, ‘The true sense of a person’s character is in how they act when you can do nothing for them.’ I guess we know where Aruba stands on that one. Throughout this entire investigation all we have heard from Aruba is ‘but what about me?’ in defiance that even the loss of a loved one should take a moment’s time from ‘their right to be happy’. And that ‘what about me’ is also prevalent in the viewpoints of those ‘innocents’ in Aruba who don’t want to be ‘hurt’ by outsiders. IT WAS ONE OF YOUR OWN THAT DID THIS! GEEZ! Get it straight! That’s the first step!

compananzi, the first people to blame for the disaster caused by Katrina would be your Mayor and Governor. The graft in your city seemed to vanish and not go to improve the levees the way they were supposed to, the school busses and other busses were left standing while “laid back” Ray twiddled his thumbs, and Ms. Governor refused for days to call in the National Guard.. The President of the US can not be everywhere taking first response to each and every National disastor, that is what local and state officials are for. Compare what happened in your city to what happened in NYC on Sept. 11, 2001. Guiliani was RIGHT THERE, NYPD and FDNY officials were there, directing there BEST and BRAVEST in performing their job under circumstances they had no training or former experience in….. they did not just stand by until it was too late, wail help us, and blame the President on the result of a hurricane!!!

    15. Glaswegian on July 1st, 2007 6:54 pm

To the SM group in NOLA…Life is still pretty difficult for many people who live there and I’m sure that is part of the problem with the response to the brochures, etc. It also sounds like the Hilton security staff are still in the post-Katrina mode — which certainly isn’t necessary.

As someone who visited NOLA yearly for many years (I haven’t been back since the hurricane) in the summer you all deserve multiple thank you’s — just for being out in that heat and humidity! No one does that unless for very compelling reasons and to me that shows just how important this cause is to you. You aren’t doing this for kudos, family members, your jobs, or even yourselves, you are doing it for your fellow citizens who sometimes can’t protect themselves (or didn’t realize that they needed to — I know I didn’t when I was 18!). Thank you all.
