I imagine some of the 300 leads are generated from people in the Macy’s parking lot who saw one or both of the vehicles. When I am in that parking lot, I feel pretty aware of the cars around me.-and the “person of interest” must have been on foot from the Macy’s lot to the Target lot to pick up his truck for about 12 minutes- I think I would have remembered seeing him cross that street between the mall and Target on foot if I had been there. Bless her and keep her.

Such a beautiful smile and she looks so happy. I fear the worst in this case after watching the videos on the news. I only hope and pray I am wrong.

On the video, there is a “seconds” counter. At 26, when they show her going in the store (2nd timeit is shown) you can here someone yelling something that sounds like “Kelsey”

Do they have a video of the guy entering the store?

Oh I pray she is okay.

That voice calling out is actually at 27. Does anyone else think this is significant?

      Law officers searching south KC
More than 200 law enforcement officers are searching a 900-acre area in south Kansas City after Kelsey Smith’s cell phone signaled a tower in that vicinity Saturday night.

The phone signaled the tower at 8 p.m. Saturday. Kelsey’s car was last seen at 7:10 p.m. leaving the Target store at 97th Street and Quivira Road in Overland Park, which is about 20 miles from the search location.

FBI spokesman Jeff Lanza said about 240 officers will be involved in the search. Officers will conduct the search by a grid.

Searchers have been at the location since about 11 this morning. At this point the search is being conducted on land.

More than law enforcement is searching for the teen, who two weeks ago graduated from Shawnee Mission West High School.

Tim Miller, founder of Texas EquuSearch, has come to Overland Park to help.

EquuSearch has been active in the search for Natalee Holloway, who went missing while on vacation in Aruba in 2005. EquuSearch also took part in the search for Jodi Sanderholm, who went missing in Arkansas City in January.

A crew of about six other members of EquuSearch is also headed for the area with boats, all-terrain vehicles and sonar equipment.

Pleas for Kelsey Smith’s return also were made on national television this morning.

Wearing “Find Kelsey” T-shirts, her parents and older sister appeared on morning news programs, including The Today Show on NBC and The Early Show on CBS. The family’s goal is to keep Kelsey’s face and name in the public’s eye.

Kelsey’s dad, Greg Smith, said police are working “literally hundreds” of leads, some involving new information about an older model Chevrolet pickup truck seen in the Target lot at the same time Saturday night that Kelsey pulled in. Enhanced surveillance video also shows that pickup leaving Target at 9:29 Saturday night, about 12 minutes after someone dropped Kelsey’s car off at a nearby mall parking lot.

Volunteers met again this morning to pass out more fliers with the 18-year-old’s face. Kelsey’s sister, Stevie Hockersmith, sent a message this morning to the nation.

“Keep her in your prayers,” Hockersmith said. “And Kelse, if you’re out there, we’re coming.”

Fox news is reporting that the body of Kelsey Smith has been found about 20 miles from the site from where she was abducted. How sad. Poor child, and her poor family. I hope they find the pervert and hang him high.
