Political PC Nonsense Run Amuck … Florida Bill would mandate nicer term for illegals

STOP THE INSANITY!!! An illegal activity is just that … illegal.

When is an “illegal alien not an illegal alien”? When Democratic Florida liberal, Frederica Wilson, D-Miami, find the word … “illegal alien” offensive. So then they would be ILLEGAL “immigrants”? Or do you object to the word illegal as well?

She has introduced a bill providing that: “A state agency or official may not use the term ‘illegal alien’ in an official document of the state.” There would be no penalty for using the words.

In Miami-Dade County, Wilson said, “we don’t say ‘alien,’ we say ‘immigrant.’”

That’s OK, we say you a fool for wasting the tax payers time and money. The Right Wing News has some other nicer terms they wish to add as well.

i guess she’s afraid we’ll be confused and not recognize the difference between humans here illegally and all those off planet creatures who are also here illegally since i’ve yet to meet one who had green cards or student visas.

Why have any laws at all?
When our own government blatantly ignores them.
I think the day may be in site that the law-abiding citizens of our country will start challenging other laws based on the government’s refusal to enforce the immigration law. You know when you set precedence you have formed a foundation for basis of other laws to be broken or challenged.

Look at #3 here, they may have to go after the dictionary too.

I can still remember finding my father’s green card as a child, reading the words “resident alien” and actually believing he was an alien (from outer space) protected by the government … it freaked me out for an afternoon.

seriously though… as a verb, alien is defined as such:
estrange: arouse hostility or indifference in where there had formerly been love, affection, or friendliness; “She alienated her friends when she became fanatically religious”

I can see why you would prefer the term alien…because it’s stigmatizing to illegals, who you have no respect for. Just don’t forget that we call legal, law-abiding immigrants “aliens” as well.

      Yo Ho Ho ME!

It’s not the word alien that’s stigmatizing, old bean, it’s the term ILLEGAL!, capiche? ILLEGAL is the word stigmatizing to illegals, and ain’t that just a tearjerker, as in boo-hoo-hoo. Yeah, lets’ make a law calling an illegal alien illegal(There would be no penalty for using the words…not yet anyway, give it some time). What shall it be, a fine or jail or both for those with the temerity to

I told you once and I tell you again, this illegal alien bologna with lets’ put up a fence etc. was all election year smoke and mirrors. This is a bipartisan thing and anyone who thinks one party or the other wants to resolve this is living in a (quite literal) pipe-dream.

Nice going, Florida, as you blaze a trail for the rest of us.

It’s certainly curious to read the various responses from alleged conservatives, keepers of the faith, and Kool Aid drinkers, as they try in vain to defend that which is irrational. Can’t speak for DICK, but it would appear that ole Georgie suffers from a life long terminal case of mauvaise foi (bad faith). And I’m not talking about that popular cult of the dead that he likes to flap his pie hole about when he’s looking for votes or money. Focusing exclusively on what he might become (the hero) in his dad’s eyes is a handy though self-deceptive way of overlooking the truth about what he is (enter choice insult here). Like a ham actor who extravagantly “played at” performing his role, he illustrates the all too common human inclination to embrace an externally determined ideal, an artificial expectation about what he ought to be. But of course, the cost of this sick play-acting is losing what he uniquely was, even before he made the disastrous decision to be a cheerleader.

The ability to accept ourselves for what we are-without exaggeration-is the key, since the chief value of human life is fidelity to our selves, sincerity in the most profound sense, and lets face it – it’s a bitch to pull off. In our relationships with other human beings, what we truly are is all that counts, yet it is precisely here that we most often betray ourselves by trying to be whatever the other person expects us to be, which, if the other person is DICK or some other conservative pinhead, the results are devastating, seeing that in this country, mouth-breathers are given the vote as well. This is odious since it exhibits a total lack of faith in ourselves: to the extent that your typical mouth-breather has total blind faith in Bush or DICK, it reveals their lack of the courage to be themselves. There are, in the end, only two choices-sincerity or self-deception, to be or not to be.

The need to be right is the sign of a vulgar mind.

SM: Although this comment pretty much has nothing to do with anyhting we have allowed it to go thru to just provide a small example of what’s out there. Also, I wanted to add the following …

Mr. Madison, what you’ve just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

Illegal is as illegal does. You enter the country illegally, and you are illegal. Alien means estranged. well they are estranged, estranged from the country they belong in. I just have a hard time with all this “be nice” to people who enter your country illegally.

Wow #6 – Sounds like the rantings of Ted Kaczynski, you related? You have given me great joy to share tomorrow around the water cooler. Good stuff – I can’t stop laughing, especially 2nd paragraph sentence 2 (what we truly are is all that counts). That’s some powerful stuff…hahaha

Remember our thoughtful poster Richard’s comment the other day? He was worried about possibly offending another poster by making the FACTUAL statement that (paraphrased) there is somthing wrong with Florida.

As a FL native…I can say YES…something is wrong with Florida. God help this country. I am afraid it may be too late to save our sovereignty with all of socialist-minded kooks here now. Not to metion their mad desire to “redistribute” the wealth. So much for free enterprise when those who embrace it and actually WORK HARD will be rewarded by paying for do nothings.

Furthermore the PC police are getting completely out of hand in regards to people using naughty words when posting to blogs. For instance:

      http://lashawnbarber.com/archives/2007/03/01/cpac/

Apparently Mr. barber is quite concerned that people use the “f” word. It’s a shame that we have such PC ninny’s telling us good red blooded American’s what words to use.
