Aruban Minister accused of assault … Will Aruba take this crime Seriously?

So will Aruba take this alleged crime seriously? According to Amigoe, a woman has filed an assault complaint against a minister of the Oduber cabinet, “It is not clear whether the charge is assault, sexual intimidation, or even rape”. It is being reported that the minister being accused of assault has left the island for Miami. Funny how the rats always flee the ship. Just another blemish on “One Happy Island”.

Wonder if this woman was told by police when she reported the alleged assault to go to Carlos N’ Charlies, have a beer, wait and everything will be ok?

Amigoe, November 16, 2006: Minister accused of assault

ORANJESTAD –A woman has lodged an assault complaint against a minister of the Oduber-cabinet.  The Public Prosecutor (OM) in Aruba confirmed that the police are investigating the complaint of a woman against a minister.  The OM didn’t say much about this matter.

The case has caused a lot of commotion on the island.  There are a lot of speculations on whom this minister is, and that he has left for Miami.  Correspondent of Z-86 in Curacao, Toko Winklaar and chide editor of the Aruban newspaper Awe Mainta reported that the only minister that is currently abroad is Ramon Lee (MEP). He didn’t say though that Lee is the offender.    The victim is supposedly an employee of another minister.  It is not clear whether the charge is assault, sexual intimidation, or even rape.

Scared Monkeys: please do not stop sending the News from Aruba, this is a disgraced country, and their politicians are worse, since the Natalee Holloway case, I had never heard from this Aruba, but now, I always look for everything bad to happen to them, sorry for that, for the rest of the population, but if Natalee is never found, one way or another, this country will never, ever be blessed with tourism and prosperity. Hail for Beth and rest of Natalee’s family, who have an ongoing nightmare until the end of their lives.

Considering that Aruba passed off with indifference the gang rape of a schoolgirl, we can hardly expect that they will take much notice of this. But maybe we can do some writing to the cruise ships, airlines (are you listening, JetBlue?) and travel agencies, and maybe even congressmen:

THIS IS YET MORE EVIDENCE THAT AMERICANS SHOULD SHUN ARUBA.

      WE WANT JUSTICE FOR NATALEE.

And the poster above is right … why should they come to Miami? Or anywhere else in the U.S.? Maybe we can contact the Miami Herald and ask them to chase this guy down.

Rudy “I want me lucky charms” Croes is pissed off at Pesquera for making comments against Aruba. Mainly the high crime lately causing the reduction in tourism. Rudy….read any of your local newspapers and all you see is crime or car accidents. Clean up that island if you want tourism to come back. You can start with the Sloots and Kalpoes.

You guys say what you want but I think Oduber is the bigger sexual deviant. Its just not made the knews yet. We have heard Paulus was and if that was true you know that would have to be by force because no woman in her right mind would mess with his ugly as-. I didn’t say Anita was in her right mind. We definitely know Joran isn’t. Like father like son both damn guilty.

Court: Bush overstepped in capital cases
Judges say he had no authority to order hearings for 46 Mexicans

      By MARO ROBBINS
      San Antonio Express-news

Texas’ top criminal court rebuffed President Bush on Wednesday, ruling that he overstepped his bounds last year when he told state courts to give new hearings to more than a dozen death row inmates from Mexico.

The unanimous opinion from the all-Republican Court of Criminal Appeals was the first decision in dozens of cases pending across the nation that rely heavily on the president’s unusual intervention on behalf of 46 condemned Mexican inmates.

      http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/politics/4338586.html

another republican party blunder, so it was the republicans who most probably directed the state department to not to intervene in arubas dirty laundry – thank God they’re no longer in control of the gov’t because they seem to have a habit of letting criminal go free – including their own scandalous party members.

    35. Ramlady on November 17th, 2006 1:24 am

#34; real b.s.: There you go again, more political b.s. that has NOTHING to do with the Natalee Holloway story. Can’t you find a Bush-hating site somewhere where you can post all of your ignorant ramblings? I believe it is almost always a liberal DEMOCRAT who anguishes over the criminal’s rights over the victim’s rights, and you are truly foolish if you think there are not plenty of corrupt Dems to go around.

    36. Ramlady on November 17th, 2006 1:30 am

#34; Oh yeah real b.s., there IS a Republican still in charge of one of our branches of government–the Executive Branch. That guy also happens to have VETO power over Congress. If you would crawl out from under your rock more often and watch or read the real news, you would know about all those LIBERAL (Democrat) judges who let the criminals go free to murder, rob, and rape again.

      Ramlady You Rock!~

    38. Richard on November 17th, 2006 6:10 am

In my view, arguing over which party is the worst is like arguing about the difference between Tweedledum and Tweedledee. Can we get anyone in the government at this point to start taking an interest in Natalee’s case … something where, I feel, they have evaded their responsibility to the American people.

    39. Carpe Noctem on November 17th, 2006 6:49 pm
    40. Mortella on November 17th, 2006 6:55 pm

If Natalee had been kidnapped by a foreign GOVERNMENT then we could intervene but not with street crime. It would be considered overstepping rights, etc. as we see we already have one upset about that happening posting here.

Yes, as long as liberal judges rule in favor of the criminal and against the victims in this country, to expect otherwise in a foreign one is asking too much.

We need to clean up this happening here but not likely to happen as long as the courts are packed with criminal advocates as they are now.

So now that these miracle working Democrats are in charge, all wrongs will now be righted and maybe in the first one hundred hours according to Pelosi.

Sit back and watch this fiasco of a show! And expect more leniency shown to those who break our laws here in our own country. Until this is under control, taking charge in foreign countries is out of the question. We can’t even govern at home. But I do find it interesting that these police beatings and other outrages and examples of intolerance occur where? Why in Nancy’s home state. Wassup with that? Maybe they are not nearly as tolerant when it comes to their own asses.

    41. dennisintn on November 17th, 2006 8:34 pm

#40, i expect a lot of the abuse is from the pent up frustrations the police have in putting their lives on the line every day and the liberal judges turning the perps loose quicker than the officers can do the paperwork involved in explaining the arrests. it would sure stick in my craw in a heartbeat.

i’ll bet dennis jacobs is in charge of talking the lady out of pressing charges. he has more experience and success at doing that than actually bringing a charge to prosecution.
has anyone seen or heard of any more drug charges brought against anyone on aruba since the dog made the arrest the other day?
