Now We have the “Anti” Father of the Year … Alfredo Martinez uses 7 Year old Son as Designated Driver

The sad part is, truth is stranger than fiction. First we reported about a  loving, caring mother who killed her baby with cocaine. Not to be out-done, Alfredo Martinez, 37, used his 7 year old son as a designated driver.

Alfredo Martinez

As reported at The Smoking Gun, “Martinez directed the boy to drive him home because he was too drunk to do it himself.”

While the Nevada man should be saluted for knowing that he was too drunk to get behind the wheel last night, he probably should not have tabbed his seven-year-old son as his designated driver. Martinez, 37, was arrested after Reno cops spotted his car weaving across lanes and stopping suddenly.

didn’t drive himself as maybe he would have
      killed somebody!!!!!!!

Thank God, he had the sense to do at least THAT
      much.

I’m from San Francisco, where do I find someone
just like him to bring home to show Daddy??????
He’s just our type, young, wild and free. Does
      he own a motorcycle??????

It should be a rule, if you are no smarter than a child, you shouldn’t have any.

Of course the chance for accidents makes this a grim story but I do actually know a lady who said her father did something similar when she was about twelve years old.

This may be more common than first thought! And yes it is serious not only child abuse but endangerment of the lives of others. In the case of my friend, there was less danger to others as they lived in a remote area but it is never right to place life and death responsibility on children. There is a reason they must be at least sixteen to drive and a good one.

Too bad being a parent doesn’t require a license as I think this guy and others like him couldn’t pass the test!
