The Netherlands to Aruba’s “Corruption” Rescue again … They are Independent, Right?

So the Dutch are needed again to bail Aruba out. This time to develop “anti-corruption Corruptionlegislation.” It is supposed to be completed by mid-2007. So Aruba will have until then to maintain the “corruption” status quo. Can one imagine not being able to ratify a UN Treaty on corruption because there is no legislation in place regarding “corruption” within your own government? A United Nations treaty on corruption is laughable enough, but not being able to ratify because one lacks such legislation is simply amazing. People actually question how the protection of tourism which made up 75% of an economy was made more important than a real investigation into the disappearance of Natalee Holloway.

Lampe recently returned from Tanzania where parliament members from all over the world traded information about corruption within governments. According to Lampe many of them were quite surprised to learn Aruba did not yet have any legislation to address this issue. Upon his return to Aruba he said it is shameful that the government leaders are not more critical about their own actions.

Amigoe: October 2, 2006; The Netherlands help Aruba with anti-corruption legislation.

ORANJESTAD – The government wants to have all the legislation involving Corruptionexposeinternational anti-corruption finished by mid-2007. Aruba has asked Holland for their assistance with the preparations. The result is that for a period of one year a Dutch lawyer will offer his support to the DWJZ (department of legislation and legal matters).

According to Urbano Lopez, the director of the DWJZ and the person in charge implementing the new legislation, it’s important to both Aruba and Holland to quickly implement the anti-corruption legislation. It involves international treaties, like the United Nations treaty regarding corruption. These have been signed by the Dutch government but can’t be ratified by Aruba until the necessary legislation has been put into place. “The international pressure to sign on to this legislation is exceptionally large. So it’s very important that Aruba makes the necessary preparations.”

The DWJZ will be reinforced by the Dutch legal specialist Ron de Bree. He’ll spend a year creating conceptual laws within the realm of anti-corruption matters. According to Lopez, Holland is not just sending their expert lawyer, but is also paying for all the costs. De Bree will also spend some time in the area of anti-terrorism laws. For the implementation of environmental laws and laws relating to international privacy rights, Lopez would also like to see a, “similar type of construction.”

Furthermore he says that he’s hoping Rudi Lampe, party leader of RED, will be somewhat reassured now that the government is working on legislation against corruption.

DWJZ wants to have all the anti-corruption legislation concepts finished around the summer time. Thereafter the Raad van Advies (Advisory Council) will examine the concepts before sending them on to be handled in the Staten.

What a joke the whole damn place is. Corruption=Straten, Jacobs and Paulus. Not to mention his golfing buddy, the judge.

For anyone to believe there is no evidence against the Kalpoes and VanderSloots, they must be reading JR’s version of the truth. The means, they had it, the motive(look at all the sexual stuff and Natalee falling asleep during it) can’t let her go home and report that and they better than anyone had the opportunity. 3 guys against one girl who was intoxicated. They waited to take her out in the mass confusion of people who had been drinking everywhere. Noone needs 50 versions of the truth of what happened that night and the night after when they are innocent.
A mother speaks to the last person known to be with her daughter and he beats his chest and says he don’t know her when he sees her picture. He take them to the Holiday Inn to show where they left her. BIG FAT LIE. A mother talks to the cops looking for her daughter and they tell them to go have a beer and use the spanish word amongst themselves for bitch when speaking and say she will turn up in a crackhouse. NOT ONE person has come forward seeing them at the beach in fact the fishermen there said noone matching them was there. Not one person seen the 3 after leaving CnC. Not one person has seen Natalee since she was with them. The 3 suspects have different stories and none match each other. What a bunch of low life creeps they let hang out in the bars for nothing but preying on unsuspecting female tourists. In one statement Deepak says Joran is a sick disturbed individual who stole his parents money and beat up his brother. He also says Joran raped her he thinks and she was on the beach and he couldn’t wake her. Joran says Deepak raped and buried her. Please show me where innocent people engaged in such bizzare behaviour for 16 months before.Deepak and Satish on a talk circuit, what a joke, They were invited back to answer questions and they didn’t show up. They were invited to watch the tape and didn’t. All they have ever thought about is themselves and we are supposed to believe on that night they weren’t? How was Joran able to describe Natalee’s underwear and her private parts? You go Beth and Dave, you are the wronged parties here. It is your daughter that had her future taken away by low lifes. I spell corruption ALE & VDS. You don’t invite a guest to your home, kill them and then blame them for coming.

The whole point for Joran going out that night was to get a MB girl and score. If you believe he didn’t because he had no condom, I have the Golden Gate Bridge to give away also. Book em..

Don’t worry about the trolls, they repeatedly say this is unimportant yet come here to read. Differnt nic same old bs.

“Holland is not just sending their expert lawyer, but is also paying for all the costs.”

Enlighten me, someone … perhaps one of the Dutch posters can do it …

WHY isn’t Holland also responsible for the costs of the Natalee Holloway investigation, assuming that Aruba can’t or won’t pay them? Why were the original offshore searches reliant on American donations and good will?

Why wasn’t it the responsibility of Aruba and the Netherlands to meet the costs of investigation of a crime that occurred on their territory (given that Aruba seems unable to wean itself from the Dutch pap)?

I wish our government would take note of this, as it should do of so much else in this case ….

As for this “legislation,” I’m sure that dark will turn into light with the passage of an anti-corruption law. All the leopards will change their spots.

And all the scum will be washed clean.

Uh-huh, maybe it will play in the United Nations, but not here.

    7. Chris on October 3rd, 2006 9:41 am

The irony of this situation would be laughable if it didn’t involve the lives of good people. Asking the government in Aruba to write anti-corruption legislation would be like asking prisoners in Gitmo to write the United States’ anti-terror laws.

Unfortunately it may be too late to change things in Aruba. Is it the apathy of the people or is it just built into the fabric of that culture? It’s my belief that the only way to change things, is for the Netherlands to come in and execute a wholesale takeover of all government institutions.

    12. Pearl on October 3rd, 2006 10:45 am

Miss Underestimated, I only think it’s fair that if we’re going to give Julia any suggestions, in addition to the sunscreen (which helps prevent a leather looking skin) that we must also include a suggestion for a heavy dose of vasaline intensive care – for the hair…It’s great for helping to prevent that electrical shock treatment look makes the hair stand out on end.

On another note, apparently it was not geritol that was consumed by that individual, but rather, a massive dose of prunes. As Mike says … get the plunger. You know BS when you see it.
Keep up the great work Miss U and all dear friends of Natalee Holloway.

But these new laws won’t be retro-active! Well, how about obstruction of justice laws already in place for those who deliberately did so in the tragedy of the disappearance of Natalee Holloway? That ought to work for a sort of patched-up legal reason for prosecuting them.

    17. JusticeforNatalee on October 3rd, 2006 1:33 pm

      Aruba and Holland,

No matter what you do to make things LOOK better, you are not just moving past Natalee.

You can replace officials and claim to do this and that.

However, Americans still demand justice for Natalee Holloway.

      BOYCOTT BOYCOTT BOYCOTT

    18. JusticeforNatalee on October 3rd, 2006 1:42 pm

Yes, Aruba is a joke. But we are not going to let them get away with their “funny” business.

Does anyone get the impression that Aruba and Holland want to give the appearance of cleaning up Aruba’s act, followed by an attempt to just move on and forget Natalee?

NOT HAPPENING, ARUBA! NOT ON OUR WATCH!
      YOU STILL OWE NATALEE JUSTICE!

joran, kelmal, gretamal;be a real man and tell the truth about what you did to natalee.because the lord will forgive a persons sins when they ask yes,but you still have to pay for your sins, otherwise people wouldnt try to change and do better if there was no punishment for sin or wrong doing.the old testament says to beat a child to save his soul from hell.so see the lord knows what it takes to change a persons heart and attitude, not being patted on the back for wrong doing.all you have to do is live a little while and you see the handy work of jehovah, jesus and the holy ghost, and thier involvement in the affairs of mankind.joran, jesus loves you as much as he did before you met natalee, and he knows what happened,he watched it all,and god is mercyful he loves everyone the same regaurdless of what theyve done he knows why we do what we do.thats why he is merciful he sees and knows what people dont see and know.he knows what weve been thru, and he knows why WE are the way we are.we were put here for gods pleasure to start with then satan came along, and messed everything up.life is one big learning process.if i were in your shoes i dont know what i would do ,but i do know that if you turn to god and ask him to show you what to do he will, and i tell you one thing, that god is the only one that can help anyone without his help we are all sunk.he truely is the ONLY ONE THAT CAN HELP ANYONE WITH LIFES PROBLEMS,HES THE ONLY ONE THAT CAN CHANGE A PERSON,HES THE ONLY ONE THAT CAN DO ANYTHING AT ALL WITH A PERSON OTHER PEOPLE CANT.ONLY GOD HES THE ONLYONE WITH THAT KIND OF POWER.i love you my friend, and am sorry all this happened.we all have problems and to truely get our problems solved WE ALL HAVE TO TURN TO THE PROBLEM SOLVER JESUS CHRIST.HES THE PROBLEM SOLVER,HES THE GREAT PHYSICIAN,HES OUR ONLY TRUE FRIEND,HES OUR MOTHER,FATHER,SISTER,BROTHER,FRIEND,SAVIOR,LAWYER,DOCTOR,TEACHER,YOU NAME IT,AND THATS WHAT HE IS.HE IS THE GREAT I AM.HE SAID I AM THAT I AM.IN OTHERWORDS HE IS WHATEVER WE NEED HIM TO BE.WE DONT HAVE TO AND CANT RELY ON PEOPLE FOR WHAT WE NEED.PEOPLE JUST DONT HAVE THE POWER TO BE WHAT WE NEED THEM TO BE.THEY CANT HELP IT.PEOPLE TRY BUT THEY CAN ONLY GO SO FAR AND DO SO MUCH AND THATS IT.THEN WE HAVE TO TURN TO THE ONLY ONE THAT CAN HELP US.BUT FOR SOME REASON HE WANTS US TO ASK AND BELIEVE. IF YOU ARE NOT JORAN I HOPE HE DOES READ THIS,BECAUSE ALL OF HUMANITY NEEDS GODS HELP MORE THAN WE EVEN REALIZE.I KNOW I SURELY DO IN MORE WAYS THAN I CAN EVEN COUNT.GOD HAS HAD TO DO A LOT OF WORK ON ME,AND STILL TEACHES ME EVERY DAY TO TRY WITH HIS HELP TO DO BETTER.IM SORRY FOR BEING HARSH AT THE START OF THIS COMMENT.GOD HELP US ALL.

#23 The voluntary boycott of Aruba is already happening and quite noticeable–despite the spin from Aruba.

    30. Gram23 on October 4th, 2006 2:11 am

Joran is still number one suspect always will be. Justice may be slow but he will pay imo along with the others. God Bless Natalee. Gram23

    31. viet vet on October 4th, 2006 10:45 am

Joran is certainly living life with one eye looking at his back at all times. Bet he gets shivers ever time a new person shows up in his surrondings, particularly some man from the USA. He really needs to worry more about a woman from central Europe. Do you think he sleeps well every night? I would be afraid to turn the lights down if it were me in his shoes, whatever size they are. How about it Kelmal/Gretamal/Meatamal, you think he feels safe? Is he drinking more these days and enjoying it less? He probably has enough earnings from frequent flyer miles to pay Aruba’s debts. Running, running, running, but he can never hide.

    32. SUPER DAVE on October 4th, 2006 12:23 pm

#23 you better recognize ! it’s already happened to the extent that aruba is a ghost island.no natalee, no tourism!
      no natalee, no netherlands!
if you dutchies would swallow a little of your pride, you might be tolerable ( NOT ) !

    33. GretaMAL on October 4th, 2006 1:44 pm

vet, IMO Beth worries more about her safety than Joran does !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

    34. Carpe Noctem on October 4th, 2006 2:29 pm

Yes, perhaps that is because he his preoccupied preying and beating defenseless teenage girls to death.

    35. Maggie on October 4th, 2006 4:33 pm

Good hearing from you Grams and Viet.. Just another innocent man lying about his shoe size.

      August 8th

The suspect was asked to take off his shoes. The suspect looked for support from his lawyer, they did not look at him however and he starts to write. He once again made an urgent request, with a slap on table.

The interrogator asked him last why he on that day wore size 14 K-Swiss shoes, whereas he now has on size 10.5. After the suspect showed me his shoe, I pressed on the nose (toe) of the shoe and felt that the toes of the suspect were right and fit appropriate in the shoe.
The suspect did not react further.

      June 14

told Deepak that I left my shoes at the Marriot Hotel. Deepak told me not to worry that he would go back the next day and pick them up for me. I had left a pair of white and blue shoes of the make “K-Swiss”, size “14″ on the beach. These shoes I bought in the USA.

    36. viet vet on October 4th, 2006 5:31 pm

You are so wrong Gret, Beth does not worry at all about her safety. She only has one thing on her mind, JUSTICE. Joran has only one thing on his mind, FEAR. He is a coward at best.

    37. dennisintn on October 4th, 2006 9:28 pm

#39, there is a large difference in worrying about yourself, and other people worrying about you. your comments get dumber by the hour. to begin with, it wasn’t anybody’s business who went with her or what precautions they were taking on her behalf.
      dennisintn
