The Empire Strikes Back II; Tacopina Responds in Court Filing to Civil Law Suit

Yesterday Attorney Joe Tacopina representing Joran and Paulus Van der Sloot in the civil law suit filed in New York by the parents of Natalee Holloway filed his response to the Court.

One thing is rather curious in that Joe Tacopina spends 119 pages stating why New York is not an appropriate jurisdiction for a civil law suit and that it provides a hardship on his clients, yet he has threatened to file civil suits against others. What’s the difference? Wouldn’t that be a hardship to his clients as well?

According to Fox News, Tony Snow will be named the new White House Press Secretary to George W. Bush. With Tony Snow’s record of Presidential speech writing for , work with Fox News Sunday and Fox radio; he will make a perfect Press Secretary.

“He has a great common sense, a great understanding of the issue. He is able to do it with good humor. We see him handle cancer with good humor, I think he can handle (NBC’s) David Gregory with that same great humor, but also be somebody who would really communicate to the American people in a good common sense way,” said Barbara Comstock, a former director of research and planning at the Republican National Committee. Gregory is known to aggressively challenge current White House Press Secretary Scott McClellan during daily press briefings.

In the immortal words of Nadira Ramirez, Deepak and Satish Kalpoe’s mother; “All people lie, even big people.” In Aruba and those that are either suspects or witnesses in the Natalee Holloway investigation seem to lie more than others.

Now the son of the former lead investigator lied to the authorities regarding Geoffrey van Cromvoirt. Can this investigation get any more bizarre? Can anyone in this case be taken for their word?

The former leader of Aruba’s investigation of the disappearance of Alabamian Natalee Holloway says his son falsely accused a man who was released Monday.

Gerold Dompig said accusations of his son, Michael, against Geoffrey van Cromvoirt, 19, were part of a dispute among acquaintances that escalated out of control.

“He’s a kid; he got confused and frustrated and he said things he shouldn’t have said,” Dompig told the Birmingham (Ala.) News. “It went too far.”
